Regarding the Platinum membership,

Lets say if im based at FF Empire, then i wanna work out at Mont Kiara just for today. Do i need to register or anything? Or platinum membership lets you access all the outlets at any time?
*
FF Platinum allows auto access to all outlets in Malaysia. Just walk in and swipe your card as usual. Only when you're flying overseas and wanted to use/ tryout the FF gym there, you will need to inform the front desk earlier for them to prepare a 'passport' to enter.

QUOTE(Eve90 @ Sep 3 2013, 08:40 PM)
Are there any girls out there who goes to the gym at like 6 something in the morning on weekdays before going to work?
*
Me! But only once a week, otherwise I'd be stoned all the time.
I will reach FF at 6.45-6.50am, do some warm up then join the 7am class. Finish at 8am, take bath, change, go for breakfast then work. I start work at 9.30am previously so there's the luxury of breakfast but since I've changed my working time to 9am, have to tapau or have a really quick b'fast.

QUOTE(chiahau @ Sep 3 2013, 10:39 PM)
Probably very low?

The earliest they open is at 6 am but err, how can you go to work after you go gym?

The jam would kill, no?
*
I see a lot of women ady at gym before 7am (Paradigm). Some no need to work. I personally work near to Paradigm (only 5-10min away without jam) but with the morning traffic it takes me appx 15-20min or so to get there.

QUOTE(alfredfx @ Sep 3 2013, 11:15 PM)
how much is FF Platinum ? So only Platinum has overseas passport
*
Yup if you want overseas passport then you've gotta enroll for Platinum membership.

ff wannabe signed in.

I am going to join ff at Paradigm Mall soon. Anyone here is frequent Paradigm Mall ff member?
*
QUOTE(chiahau @ Sep 6 2013, 09:18 PM)
Probably Sweet_pez which works very close to there  laugh.gif

Occasionally, I visit there for fun too.

Get a plat membership so you can switch clubs easily.
Idk what you do in gym, but I would be dead exhausted after I'm done with my regime, thus, reducing my productivity for work, if there's any.
*
Hahahaha only on Wednesday morning you'll find me there... and special occasion like today - Grit new release launch. Some Thursdays I would drop by to join my friend for Grit workout.

QUOTE(Eve90 @ Sep 6 2013, 08:50 PM)
Great to hear that. But I am worried that it might be dangerous to go to the gym so earlier since we have to walk from parking to the gym. Do you go alone or with company?
*
Oh for Paradigm it's easy. I park right next to the lift and just take lift up to G and I've reached FF. I have seen some securities patrolling/ walking around car park at 6+am. I have been going alone for 3-4weeks but recently a friend of mine decided to join in lol we drive separate car but go up together. It's only temp though as he won't be able to join me in March next year -_____-;; so sad. It's always nice to workout with a company.

QUOTE(yeeck @ Sep 6 2013, 11:46 PM)
Corrected.

Yeap same as gorgeous. Normally will train during weekends.

Visited Gorgeous KBT last 2 days. The place is big - 5 floors! Definitely bigger than FF KBT but just can't get used to the environment there. For some funny reason I just find Gorgeous very 'alien' to me laugh.gif couldn't wait to leave right after class. If there's one thing I like about the place - it's the rooftop <3

Although it was Open Day, the staff in front desk stopped us and ask if we're brought in by any member @@ almost didn't allow us to go in. But if we just walk past the reception (no need towel) and go straight to the lift, they wouldn't know right? Because unlike FF, there's no need to swipe the card.

QUOTE(mikehuan @ Sep 7 2013, 08:00 AM)
Lady vanity is a pt there. Look for the buff chick in ff uniform lol
*
Yerrrr I went Paradigm on 7th Sept and look for her, she's off cry.gif no luck.

QUOTE(decypher @ Sep 10 2013, 06:39 PM)
Sure can enter.

There is a direct lift at B2 (SOHO Lift) that goes straight to level 8 (FF), but I'm not sure if you use it before the mall opens.

I am going at 630am actually... heheh. Less people, more machines for me!!!!!!!!! haha
*
Oh you went Empire so early? lol so where's the nearest entrance to FF? laugh.gif

Also, anyone know where to park in Curve if I wan go to the FF there? Nearest entrance biggrin.gif

Yea gorgeous fitness entry security is quite lax. There are cases where people just borrow their friends card and flash it to the  reception. Works every time apparently. Imo still risky because if they insist on checking before you go in ie inputting the number into the pc and the profile pic they take when they issue the card is different then you're in trouble

For me I just tell the reception my id no. I don't even carry my card around lol.
*
No kidding... I'm really surprised they're so chillax. One friend used his mum's card to enter FF and it had been ongoing for quite a few months till he was caught. I can't believe they only caught him after so long. Every time members swipe card to get in, the card holder's picture flashes on the monitor (big one too) laugh.gif

QUOTE(decypher @ Sep 13 2013, 04:00 PM)
In Empire I find it easy to park at B3, because there is an autopay machine there.

However, the SOHO lift doesn't stop at B3, you gotta descend one level of stairs to B4, then take the lift to level 8.

On the way back, just drop at B2, then walk one level of stairs down.

In The Curve, there is a lift right in front but I don't usually park in The Curve so I am unsure. I usually park at eCurve (the cinema there?), and walk through the street mart.
*
Eh... then meaning the SOHO lift doesn't stop at B1 or B2, only B4? hmm.gif There's a lot of lift around Empire... is it the one near NEWS entrance?

Hmm. The SOHO lift doesn't stop at B3. Stops at B1,B2,B4.

The SOHO lift is located on your right, right after you pulled the ticket from the ticket machine entering the carpark.

Got it, thanks! smile.gif

Does anyone know whether Fitness First at Empire Subang Jaya offers daytime memberships?  What about their equipment; do they have individual weight machines and a rowing machine?  I thought I'd get some background information from you folks before trekking down there for the full sales pitch.
*
I don't think there's a daytime membership with FF?

Why not sign up for the 7-days free trial before you make up your mind? I think nothing beats trying out the facility first.

What's the rate difference like?

Yeah like me, no choice but to get the Plat membership since KBT is nearest to me place. You can try checking with the consultant whether they are able to provide you home membership but don't put too much hope on it.

Platinum membership can go to ALL of their centre including overseas. I'm only taking it because one of their platinum members exclusive branch is near my office (Mont Kiara). Regular members can't go to platinum exclusive branches.

They quote me 200. A bit pricey if you ask me, but for my own convenience I took it up lo.
*
Yeah it's pricey but standard price. If you ask me, it's reasonable if you maximize your membership (meaning go to gym often lol).

A year. Was considering TF before since they are offering me 100 per month for 2 years contract. But the sales guy being damn pushy and the smelly bathroom turns me away. Plus they don't have a branch near my house in Cheras.
*
Good thing you didn't sign up with TF. Google the TF thread here and you'll find pages and pages of never ending complain about them.

*
Yes agree. If you're talking about yoga/ GX and RPM, Axis's one is bigger tongue.gif but in terms of machines, pantry, freestyle area etc Paradigm is better (newer and bigger).

Yup I go Paradigm on and off biggrin.gif but am a regular there on Wednesday morning.

I am still wondering here actually. Because I dont have a credit card and I dont want to pay lump sum.  sad.gif
*
RM201.60 inclusive of the 6% GST and yes, it's by credit card.

I have seen some members pay at the front desk. Try negotiating with the membership consultant to see if they'll allow you to pay cash monthly. If they're desperate enough for business (and not against their policy), it's possible.

Do you take trainer as well?  unsure.gif
*
No... don't need a PT. Although I'm not 100% disciplined, I think I do enough workout (clock in averagely 12-14 hours of workout per week in the gym). Instead of paying for PT, I leverage on the classes and online videos or materials. In fact I always ask tips from other veteran members and class instructors wink.gif it's sufficient. Like I always believe in - ask and you shall receive (well, 50% of the time lol). Gym members (of those that I know) are very generous and more than willing to share if you ask.

What are you interested in doing at FF? Yoga or GX class or weights? Others?

Also I feel very very awkward when another guy trying to initiate a conversation with me in the Steam Room. doh.gif

Aaaawh that was me when I first joined. But I didn't like how things were... it's too boring to just come, workout and then leave. I like making friends and talking to people wub.gif so am really happy to get to know the members. I go to gym everyday that it has literally turned to my 3rd home (same for most active gym goers I believe). It's easier to make friends when you join GX and become a regular there. Start off with smiles, small talk and then yay~

laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif in steam room? kena target or seriously just small talk?
I hardly use the steam room because my gym kaki is a guy -_____-||

Actually I wanna tone my body shape. I have flabby arm, huge thighs and huge waist which needed immediate action to cut it down.
I wondered, if no PT around, who gonna teach me how to use the machines and what should I do to properly fit the meats well?
on top of that I love the sauna room and steam room after workout. It is kind of satisfaction motivated me to go for gym.
Previously I join another gym in Section 14 PJ the environment there made me want to switch for better, and FF paradigm is my choice but the space  hmm.gif
I am more interested on the classes that there offered actually, like yoga zumba aerobic etc.... if machine I found it quite bored.  laugh.gif
*
No worries dear, after you signed up they will usually offer you the Body First kit - 3 sessions with a PT. You will pay for it initially RM250+ but if you come to the gym at least 3 times a week for 3 months, they will refund the money to you (note that you will need to fill a form and ask for refund, and wait a little bit).

Maximize your questions during those 3 sessions (1hr per session). The PT will teach you how to use the treadmill, machines, advice you on your food etc. No doubt they'll do some pep talk and get you to sign him/ her up for PT afterwards.

Even if the PT did not teach you how to use some of the machines, you can always ask some of PT at the counter and they'll tell you (there are nice ones and grudging ones, mind you). Or, better still, ask some of the members and make friends smile.gif that's how you initiate conversation. Don't need to be shy.

As you know... spot reduction is a myth so if you have high body fat content, then you'll need to reduce it. I would recommend HIIT - such as Body Attack class (whereby Paradigm doesn't have it, sorry).

You like dancing classes? yawn.gif nice, you can go for Sh'bam, Body Jam or Zumba. There's quite a lot of yoga classes as well and aerobics (HIIT) - Attack - you can join another club for the program. LesMills program are very fun and intense, you'll love them.

100% agree with you, I won't last a month if it's machine all the way sweat.gif not my type of a workout.

Never tried Umi's hardcore before but went for her Pump once @@ gosh the crowd was a killer. Everyone's standing shoulder to shoulder. Or should I say... barbell to barbell?

For hardcore I'd think the "king" is Desmond from Curve. I get phobia every time I think of hardcore and him teaching. Did you try hardcore strength? Love it! Can't wait for it to be launched.

brows.gif pro? Currently my 9th month with FF. Even my home club's GX manager thought I was a long time member (because she only came in 9-10 months ago, almost the same time as I join the club) laugh.gif

I'm still far from my goal but am at least happy I'm making progress.

wink.gif definitely will bump into FF Paradigm. Although I don't go there often (except Wed morning), I do go there for special launching/ event/ release (for programs that I follow and if it's an instructor i like lol) and certain weekends when I wanted a change from my usual home club class routine. Sometimes I follow instructors as well.
