hi, does any sifu here know anything about this type of roof? what is it name? Is it expensive(around how much per square foot)?
It seems to me slick and simple, I would like to install this for my balcony if the price is affordable for me.

Anyone here can introduce contractor who can do this?

thanks in advance, cheers.

Bro, when you do yours, go for simplicity.

sorry, i am unsure what is gutter purpose?
*
Gutter

The main purpose of a rain gutter is to protect a building's foundation by channeling water away from its base. The gutter also helps to reduce erosion, prevents leaks in basements and crawlspaces, protects painted or stained surfaces by reducing exposure to water and provides a means to collect rainwater for later use.

When it rains, You will have to run through Larger Drop of Water from the roof ( If no gutter)

Erosion( Holes) will appear if no gutter

Your The Boss.

Do you need light into your house?
Go For Lexan Solar Control IR, which reduce 30% Heat Compare to other Grade in the Market, with Warranty
Check out the Old Posting

If you need NOT Light, go for Metal Type, As thick as possible ( You may need to climb up there one day)
I'm using Metal for my Wet Kitchen.

Emboss Polycarbonate is one Layer, 2.6 mm thick only
If you choose Solid Type, better go for 6 mm, which is Un-Breakable with Axe

Twin-Wall is 2 layer ( which Insulate Heat better) and Lower Cost.

my contractor advise, don't choose light color. Reason - "bird shit" will turn from beautiful to ugly. unless you so hard working to climb up every day and wash. tongue.gif

that one future only think. Who's know?
by that time, all bird shit already full on top to add another layer.
I pity those that do glass. Look elegant and nice. But with bird shit...ewww.... (more cleaning)

You probably demolish and rebuild a new one. tongue.gifc

We have rain to wash away the birds drop. Furthermore how often you get birds drop?

Few of my mom neighbor put awning I hardly see them wash and is still good looking.

Concern about bird drop, you can climb up and check how many bird dropping on the roof.

It Will,,,, But depend on the Brand you Choose

Polycarbonate is NOT Chemical Resistant..

Your Washing Machine, Microwave label are Printed on Polycarbonate.
The Color stick to it so good...

Get Coated Polycarbonate for your Outdoor Skyroof.. with Warranty Against Yellowing ( so It won't Change Color)

Bro..Having a SkyRoof is Not Cheap

For the Sake of Green, At least use for more than 10 years.
Batu Tiga Stadiums is more than 10 years before they try to Change ( Not successful I guess, They replace bit by bit)

Workmanship + Steel = 70 ~ 75%
Roof ( Polycarbonate) = 25 ~ 30%

I purposely bought my Roof separately as the Contractor Say they don't offer the one I want.
So End up I pay high price.

But, I ain't changing roof for at least 10 Years

My material price was RM 7.50 per Sq Ft ( For Coated + Reduce Heat Grade & about 60% Light Transmission). Since it's Brand is good, I'm need not Worry
You can get Cheaper Type, but Make Sure you get a Written 10 years warranty ( You can claim them when they turn yellow, break for natural cause & Blurr Out)
