I think it have to be as thick as a finger. About 12mm?  3mm is way too noisy.

haha...forget it....don't care liao...tempered glass not afford to..even afford also don't willing to pay for that.......as long as my balcony has cover and can sit under it during night...drink tea.....

my poly awning will be installed soon...2-3 more weeks later...deposit paid...

Added on February 28, 2012, 10:34 amweikee, ask your opinion...

3mm? My poly thickness more than 3mm. It is green semi transparent. 1 surface smooth and another surface is rough.

Still noisy.  sad.gif

I still headache on choosing colour....i dont like green, blue and red colour.....now left brown and clear (no colour) to choose.....if use transparent, my 300++ sq ft balcony will always under hot sun....so, maybe will choose brown rough surface which can block 85% sunlight...haiz....another decision need to make is...use pergola type (balau wood) or metal frame.....metal easy to maintain....anyone give me some opinion?
Thanks

Is the brown also transparent? If transparent too, it still have UV coming in and still hot. I will say wood easy to maintain. Metal can rust.
*
Brown colour rough surface type is no transparent....

wood easy to maintain? hmm......

oh ya...u remind me....can consider use white rough surface too.....but I am sure the brown colour block more sunlight than white colour....

Added on February 29, 2012, 12:10 pmif use wood frame, can match with brown colour..

if use metal frame (paint white), can match with white colour..

Building 2 actually, one for the car porch and the other one for a balcony.
Didn't see your reply earlier bro... sorry. Am located in PJ but i've just contracted Supercool to get it done.

Can be done cheaper than their normal prices, but am really strapped for time at the moment. Will keep you guys updated on their service.
I just done my timber pergola (polycarbonate) awning two weeks ago with supercool.....how you get to know them?...hehehe..Mr Jeff is so nice...

And I tot their price already very low and competitive.....I can't get any lower than supercool.....overall, satisfy with their workmanship (currently)....hope can tahan for 10 years~!

Cheaper meaning i get my own fellas to do it but that would mean i have to go source the wood, get the perspex sheets,  stainless steel bolts, etc... plus supervising the build which i don't really have time for at the moment. Otherwise it can be cheaper, and considering that they're using Balau wood, price is considered decent.

Agree.....their workers worked until 9pm for me.......so hardworking.....
