the first female actually leap into the male tank.
There's lots of bubbles, but the female went missing in action.
Can't even locate carcass. I think the male ate it too~

Sorry to disappoint you but these aren't defined in any betta species.

They are known as false betta, but they are not exactly betta by any means.

Their real name - Croaking Gourami, Trichopsis vittata (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croaking_gourami).

I have caught many of these some few weeks back.

Speaking of the name 'croaking', they really do make the croaking noise. Give it a try to hear the noise.

Anyway, these are pretty cute fish too. Have fun!

they dont look that betta to me..
at least i got myself my first ever croaking gouramis..
but are they mouth brooders? because i noticed they got lots of lil fries swimming in the tank?

Interesting. Where did you get them from? They are easily available in the wild from black water peat swamps.
Anyway, they are really beautiful in some ways though. Of course, to the gourami fans, somehow.
Their colouration is somewhat greenish for the male.
Nope. They are bubble nesters. Not at all mouth brooders.

i thought i recalled seeing them somewhere in the pet section, and i forgot they were gouramis.
i thought i caught weird looking enisae or edithae or balunga. i still got a lot to learn.
i guess i should make another hunting trip
