Hi to all sifus here!
I'm here to humbly ask a few things about Asus G series lappie! >< Long story short, I'm in the process of choosing a new gaming laptop, and I am attracted to Asus G series stealth design Anyways I just want to ask, what is the difference between Asus G55VW-S1095V and Asus G55VW-S1020V ? Been surfing on the net and researching, and I saw that S1020V has 8GB of DDR3RAM while S1095V only has 4GB? :| And if there is any help to answering my question, here are my current aim of requirement for my future lappie ^^ : 1. Able to play Guild Wars 2 on best settings! (Means I can see every details 2. Can run and render AutoCAD 3D program and designs smoothly! (University assignments ><) 3. Got big big screen and nice colours~ (15"~17" will do My budget is around RM3-4k +/- , just want to get a good gaming lappie that can sustain me for the next 3/4 years at least Just another small small thing, I am a computer hardware noob, as in I really don't know anything much, so I really hope all the pros out there can help me out in choosing a decent lappie for me to use! Thank you in advance for all your advices and suggestions! Really appreciate it from my heart! >< |

QUOTE(BubblePig @ Jun 6 2012, 01:52 PM) Hi to all sifus here! there will be a newer revision for the coming G55 batch. The previous batch was S1095V, that comes only with a normal bag and they're currently out of stock and will be replaced with a newer revision. Which I forgot what code number already, but it'll come with an exclusive Targus ROG backpack and ROG mouse. Specs wise, they are the same.I'm here to humbly ask a few things about Asus G series lappie! >< Long story short, I'm in the process of choosing a new gaming laptop, and I am attracted to Asus G series stealth design Anyways I just want to ask, what is the difference between Asus G55VW-S1095V and Asus G55VW-S1020V ? Thank you in advance for all your advices and suggestions! Really appreciate it from my heart! >< 1. no idea, never played guild wars 2 but i think it should be no problem maxing it out 2. i am also getting this for my cad applications like Revit, 3ds Max, Autocad, sketchup and along with photoshop/illustrator. I may give some opinion on this. Cad applications like autocad 3D could rely more towards the CPU. I'm not sure how much will the GPU be used. I've been researching about the performance of GTX660m gpu. And i'm still not sure whether 3D softwares are using more of CPU or GPU. But i could tell that the latest 3ds Max 2012/2013 has started to use the gpu to boost its performance. Maybe the same for autocad 2012/2013. However, the 660m may not be the best card to run your softwares smoothly (depending on the scene you're rendering, amount of objects etc) but it will do the job and definitely better than the other mainstream cards outside 3. G55 is 15.6" while the G75 is a 17". Both are huge in size, and bigger than any normal 17" laptops. Yes both Added on June 6, 2012, 2:09 pm QUOTE(ykgen @ Jun 6 2012, 01:58 PM) http://www.dell.com/my/p/alienware-m17x-r4...en&s=dhs&~ck=mn wah dont la poison me..
