my g53sx start to have display prob after service by penang SC.....
before that,dun have dis issue at all....now i am doubt about something.....  

1st time....secondary hardisk damage but i seldom use it (replace new one).....

2nd time....random BSOD....they tell me is the reseller free gift corsair RAM got prob.....(i went back to the shop that sell me laptop to claim waranty)
the ram still RMA(not yet returned  T_T)

Hey Arvinaaa, how big is the G55? and what backpack do you use? I'm currently looking for a backpack that fits, most probably i'll be going for a 17" laptop backpack. From NBR forum, this is the measurement for the G55

G55:
14.8" x 11.8" x 0.9"-2.0" 8.4bs with 8 cell battery

doesnt really fits the backpacks that i want, even if its a 17" backpack.

And since G55 is just slightly smaller than the G53, any G53 users can offer their opinions about backpacks as well?

How to justify my software is running heavy or not?

Added on May 14, 2012, 9:14 pmthe g55 has a set of babies games..like solitare and stuff that are free TRIAL for 1 hour each game..this are not the games that come with windows 7..they are some special games by a seperate provider..useless and safe to uninstall..just did it just now

i think is 1300mhz only... for none 3d version, not sure about 3d version.

the rog bagpack is designed or up to 17.3 inch models..should not be a problem for you bro.

I'm thinking of getting the ASUS G55VW-S1095V.
How much RAM should I get for it? top up to 8GB or 16GB? what is the max?
One of the shops mentioned that the upgrade would have to be done at the Asus Service Center that seems to be famous for breaking laptops.
Is there any shops in Penang that could upgrade the RAM at their shop instead?

To G55VW-S1095V owners,

When you first start up your G55VW-S1095V, do you have to wait for all the driver and programs to install before you can use? Or everything is ready to use?

I'm asking because my Toshiba Qosmio when first start up need to wait for them to install everything like every time you formating your laptop but my G55VW-S1095V can be use straight away when i first start up.

another thing, can u manually switch the graphic card between the intel hd 4000 and the built-in gtx660m? or it will be switched autoMAGICALLY?

bcos i heard from somebody saying that the graphic card is not switchable (both automatic or manual switching).i feel tat it is reli impossible for not allowing users to switch it

Yup, the tma1 bass is nice, I bought beats coz the design is nice and beautiful..and the sound is damn good. The akg you already purchase? Cannot change to the tma 1? Finished cod mw3, battlefield3, mass effect3 and need for speed run..playing diablo 3 but just started.

the n56 is good bro..just that it is slightly lower than the g55 in terms of power..thats all..if you need a laptop by this weekend, 99.99% percent you cant get by this week ,because so many people ordered(ykgen,girugaga,etc etc etc etc etc) looks like you have to get the n56..but, the n56 os NOT full hd, it is only 1366x768 display..

if you want to ask the shop guy to install the software you mentioned abouve..i would suggest you to be with the shop guy while he is opening your laptop for the first time..check whether the windows is 'first time startup' process or not..if yes, you can enter your username and time zone right at the shop..after the first time startup, then the shop guy can install the softwares,wont be a problem....IF YOU R NOT THERE WHILE HE INSTALL THE SOFTWARE, you might not know how many times he turned on your laptop, or what he is using for..so i suggest you be there so you can set the windows first time startup process.

actually..installing mozilla firefox and adobe flash player is quite easy..you can try a browser called GOOGLE CHROME.IT IS THE fastest and simplest browser in the world..try it. as for the powerpoint, you need to purchase an original copy of microsoft office for it( original with key), if not you can install pirated version( like me ), most probably the shop guy will install pirated version for you.

and i got the answer from the ROG headquarters from taiwan..the name of the guy from headquarters is MARSHALLR@ASUS(Richard Swinburne).he isthe leader of the rog forum and works at asus hq

he says that :'Yes, some of the right side is closed intentionally. Nothing to worry about.'

so according to him..it is not a fault..it is closed intentionally..most probably for the battery life
