GentechPC Review of G75VW. Their model comes with Thunderbolt. Sum up from NBR discussion, GTX 660M is not soldered on the mainboard, GTX 670M is soldered on the mainboard. GTX 670M models will be delayed to Mid May. |

QUOTE(girugaga86 @ May 5 2012, 08:03 PM) High odds, NO. Asus uses a reverse MXM format. So far, none has manage to get Nvidia gpu boot up, except for the G73JH which many users managed to upgrade to HD6970M.QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ May 5 2012, 08:47 PM) maybe The Standalone deals will be the ones without Bag and Mouse but with customized hardware such as Hybrid drive/SSD and i7 3720QM or higher.FINALLY the packaging is excellent..the backpack and the mouse should be in the box like in the video..not separately I can see why they redesigned the keyboard with the chassis to prevent the keyboard flex issue which many user complained a lot, on the downside, its harder to clean. G55VW as referred to the Manual has only 1 Hard drive bay, and no sub woofer. This post has been edited by riku2replica: May 5 2012, 09:27 PM |

If you're asking how much, i'd say around 20-30%. I'm guessing, with the two GPU that are mentioned above, i'd say that you're comparing the G75 with 670m with the G75 that comes with 660m? Just guessing. Newer architecture farbrication tends to be more cooling and less power consuming. An overclocked 660m will owned a stock 670m. But of course, an overclocked 670 > overclocked 660. But it comes down that what you need. Whether is it raw power that you seek for, or sacrifice a lil power for power efficiency? Cause while the new kepler architecture (660m) does not outperform the 670m, it will come in handy for power saving and stuff. On the other hand, 7970M is more powerful. ![]() This post has been edited by riku2replica: May 7 2012, 11:45 PM |

Credit to GenTechPC for ripping apart G55VW. The mSata Port is not easy to access. Over on the ROG forums they said it voids your warranty as well, but obviously the hdd and ram slots don't. |

According to GenTechPC, this below serves as instruction to access the Wifi-Card and mSata in G55VW.
QUOTE Yeah it's quite a lot of works to access mSATA slot and even the wireless card: In other words, ur basically ripping apart ur laptop. First, you need need to disconnect the hard drive and remove about 1,000 screws from the bottom, and then remove the hinge cover and the screen, disconnect all the cables and remove the top case just to access the wireless card: And then remove all the screws on the mainboard and turn the mainboard over to access the mSATA slot. And Another note, Since G55VW GTX 660M is soldered on board, anything on the motherboard spoil/GPU fried case, u'll have to replace the whole mainboard. |
