I was very excited when I received my Volcano Red MP4-12C in the mail yesterday. Took it out just now and my breath was taken away by the paint work. Bravo.

The box is not too bad and nicely made and packed.

Then to my horror, I saw the left rear wheel a little kemek !  shocking.gif

user posted image

Upon further inspection, the right rear wheel was also a little dented. Not as bad as the left rear wheel though.

user posted image

When I looked at the bottom plate, the corner looked very rough and I thought it looked like it was badly burnt.

I guess this one has to go back.  sad.gif My bubble really burst this morning. One of the models I was really looking forward to receiving.

p/s: Sorry for the not so good pics. Was testing camera.  biggrin.gif

same goes to my copper after i see it. i will send back too.

I also sent a complain feedback to Frontiart of their problem. I suspect they screwed the model to the display base way too low until the wheels touched the base. As times goes by the pressure created by the tight screwed between the model with the base, the wheels unable to sustain such pressure and hence it deformed! Even they did put a small rubber rings on the screwed still no use. They should use bigger ring instead to stop the car being screwed down till the wheels touches the display base. Good example is Minichamps and Hotwheels display base.

The most expensive Bugatti Veyron SS WR Diecast in the World!

Bugatti does not only make 1:1 examples of their Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, but also replica diecast models. Spencer over at Symbolic Motors in La Jolla, California send us a set of pictures of a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport World Record Edition Diecast he received for a client. This is number 29 in a limited series of 199.

When you order a Bugatti, the factory will make an exact diecast replica of your Bugatti Veyron you had ordered and send it to you. Everything from the exterior colour and the wheels to the interior and stitching matches the clients Bugatti Veyron. Like the full size Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, Carbon fiber is also used for the diecast model. The Bugatti Veyron diecast model is quite a bit bigger than your average diecast model and makes a great show piece. If you fancy one, you might have to buy a Veyron first or be prepared to spend a lot as the Bugatti Veyron diecast models are valued at around $ 8,000

No..it happens on the Orange too. Have you ever unscrew it out and try to roll on the surface? my orange although by visual, looks ok..but when you roll...u can feel its not rolling smooth as if there's a flat spot on the wheel. Its ok for me unless...now i have insert a small piece of foam insert below the model so that when i screwed it to the display base...i would not over screwed it..make sure the wheels dont touched the base. The model is quite light but quality is still good....the windscreen is so thin just like MR and BBR. I have highlighted this to Frontiart, and they seems to be responsive.

hacken: I think because they're not experienced thats why this mistakes tend to happen....unlike BBR or MR which will put some foam or a spacer to prevent such things. But then, hopefully they'll learn because the MP4-12C does look fantastic!! I'm really eager to add one once i have funds. Lol.

sauron: Lol. If they bought it 2nd hand, probably not as this are tailor made for NEW owners....unless the previous owner includes the diecast in the deal la. haha.

It's for Veyron SS buyers only, I think... Sultan Johor and Mokhzani's are standard Veyron.

blu3hamm3r: Not sure. Lol. Coz I'm still waiting to see if they're producing any other colour like white or silver....or even black. Diecast MP4-12C announced by Minichamps but alot of their models have been delayed. So it's anyone's guess when they will release it.

jay: For that particular one, yea SS only. But I know Veyron owners will get a 1/18 version of their car from MR when they order from Bugatti.

Nice. Congrats. rclxms.gif

If you got a red Veyron and a burgundy coloured Mclaren F1, you could do a Top Gear Drag Race as featured in Season 13 Episode 2. biggrin.gif

Strange. The fact they mentioned that it's limited to 199 units seem to direct me to 1:8th scale from Amalgam. Their CF base also looks like from Amalgam. Does this mean that the Bugatti factory will get from Amalgam and modify it to make it exactly like how you ordered a 1:1 Veyron?

This is a resin right? The wheels can still roll?

Have not tried it or taken the MP4-12C out from the base.

jchue31: I still maintain a high rating for Frontiart despite those defects. Think of it, they are inexperience and still can make this model something line 80% and above closer to those MR and BBR. Just contacted my seller that the replacement is on the way. According to my seller, indeed there are quite numbers of replacement and some even have defect paint works. But still its a gamble to buy this model...only is you had to ask your seller to inspect properly before they ship to you but how good your seller inspect the things is another questions.

I was quite surprise that the wheels can rotate, that is why I can really see if the wheels is in perfect round shape conditions by rolling it.
