Hmm it depends lo, for those early release models (year 2008 release and before), some of them are pretty bad the QC and details.. But they have a few which are pretty good in quality like:

F430 Challenge
575 Superamerica
125S
mondial 8

It's from 2008 year onwards which suddenly some models with significant improvement (for e.g no dog-leg doors, better detailings, perforated grills), some examples are:

F430 Scud (nope the F430 had dog-leg doors )
California
Dino 246gt


And.. come year 2010, the "breakthrough" period for HW elite.. They FINALLY acquired some Precision-detailed modelling skills, impressing the Dc world with the following:

599 XX
599 GTO
250 California
458 Italia


There's still some doubts over their final touch (for e.g 599XX's incorrect headlamps & 458's Exhaust and oversize front wheel) but generally from 2010 onwards, they can be said to be making DECENT models already.

And with the 250 GT SWB recently out, details are looking for it.. Some New ferrari by HW elite to look out for:

348TB (previously only made by maisto and burago) *1-2 mths time*
Ferrari FF *2mths onwards*
355 (previously only made by Ut models and Hot wheels regular)
And more..


In short: Many of Hw elite models do have certain flaws in them, but these are the models you should AVOID if u are not a very avid Ferrari collector..

HW Elite's 360 series and the F50.. one word: Horrible! If anyone of u keen, i can create a list of what HW elite to buy and what not..

On the contrary, i think the official pics for the 348 TB looks great! it's definitely looking waaaay better than those from maisto and burago.. i think the pics might not have dealt sufficient justice.. let's just wait for the model to be released b4 we judge again..

yeah the 612 wasnt a very good model from elite too, featuring old-fashioned dog-legs door, extremely disappointing.. the elite version is totally not worth it!

yes buddy.. Certainly i had to.. all of the 360's front ride height were screwed up by HW elite.. doesn't really help HWE much from the fact that even the wheels were a lil' way too inside, making the front wheels look somewhat disproportioned. Not exactly the way they should make my fav modern era ferrari, but i guess i got no choice..

Hmmm.. Gave up quite sometime ago alrd lo kawan.. that one i sold to u was the few remaining ones i used to have le..

right now only have 2 blue-box split wing F1 GTR in orange and a custom matt black F1 GTR.. and a few road versions f1 all by UT..

Even AA one i sold it..

IMHO AA captured the Zonda in perfect details esp with the engine part.. But totally agree with Geeamino, the Mac's really the car which AA manage to make best!

Well, I've got good and bad news for u guys..

Good news: Due to the recent price hike again by AA, many of us fellow collectors are once again promising to boycott and stop buying AA models.. On theory, this is certainly a huge savings for everyone's wallet.



Bad new: Amidst these price hikes, sooner or later you still will be buying their models once again..

Just ask yourself this..

How many times have they increase their price?
and how many times we have retaliate against it by saying we will stop our purchase?
and how many times, have we put the price hike aside and continue our passion for models back again?


Bottomline: unless we lose these passion for model cars, if not, the numerous times of price hikes from AA will not seem to hamper our purchase for model cars as our hobby i reckon..

Gee & Jay: high-5! the irony is, 90% of my models are kyosho and HW elite.. hehe! but i do understand the pain of price increase for models..


why not? 5-6 years ago HW elite Recommended retail price in SG was SGD89.90.. fast forward, and they're at SGD169.90 for the basic models..


AA collectors, you're lucky lo the increase only by a few dollars..

Haha i dun really boycott AA la.. truth is, my passion lies on the italian horse's stable.. so naturally i'd be more swayed over HWE and kyosho lo..

Honestly, AA's recent SV have made me quite itchy-hand but given with the price, nah.. not my theme somemore..
