too good. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

why dont you get nvidia? 7970m has overheat issue unless you get a cooling pad for it.

7970M heat problem can be solved by undervolt.
It wont effect the performance.
Many user at NBR already undrvolt.
Nvidia, price were too high but performance not on par with 7970M.. icon_rolleyes.gif

who said 7970m has heating issue? my card never go above 80 even when i play on ultra setting. I researched a lot... AMD 7970 is better than Nvidia 660, 670, 675 even 675MX. Yes 680M is better but then it's more than double the price of AMD 7970m smile.gif and it's only slightly better. Trust me for what you pay for AMD 7970M that you won't like Nvidia 680M too. Unless they decrease price... which wont happen.

undervolt? didn't do that yet, btw it's a 8months old laptop in very good condition smile.gif I don't have any complains except that the fans are noisy on load. I used Asus G55VW before. It was a very quiet laptop, even during load. First I thought maybe my temps are very high as laptop body warms up a bit too compared to Asus ROG but then I monitor, Temps are normal.

Maybe Alienware design is like this but it doesn't bother me as temps are normal allowing me to get the best out of my specs smile.gif

I am thinking to overclock but I might not as it decreases the life of parts as they worn out sooner than later, especially bearing of the fan. Anyhow games work smooth on ultra so I don't need to OC. Maybe after 1 year when GFX get more high biggrin.gif

79 on gaming is not bad. Anything above 90 is bad. All these latest titles contain badass graphics. I suggest you to youtube 680M vs 7970M, it has all the benchmarks and temperatures.

Wait let me find the link....

fyi Nvidia 680M heats up more smile.gif
Watch this full review and you'd know why 7970M is better.
