Earlier this evening my hand gets itchy to open the bottom cover of my M17x to see whta it's look like inside. I'm so happy to see the interposer for 2nd HDD was included. It's sandwiched in the empty 2.5" drive caddy, inside a rubber case. So no need to buy one when i want to stuff SSD in there.

Juz want to share, 2 nights ago, i decided to turn off switchable graphic using Fn+F7 combination. Later, i juz ran performance test using Company of Heroes before playing (i know it's a very old game) n the result is almost ten fold. Wow, looks like AMD's Enduro pulling the 7970m's legs too much. I feel very sorry for those who owns sager or clevo lappy with AMD's card.

unless you can buy the connector separately..

Hello bros, Currently got an offer,

I am in the middle of seaching for a gaming notebook. Suddenly, i found out about this legendary machine M17x R1,

Mind you, i am really into Alienware because of the design and the fancy lighting.

I am gonna use it mainly for gaming and i dont do much PS.

-Intel Core2 Extreme Quad QX9300 2.53GHz (12MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
-8 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz (2 DIMMs)(Upgraded from original 6GB)
-500 GB Free Fall Sensor Hard Drive (7200 RPM)
-1GB SLi dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280M
-17 inch UXGA+ 1900x1200 pixels(bright,perfect condition screen without any dead pixels,marks etc.)
-Intel 6300 AGN,WLAN card(upgraded from original)
-9 Cell Primary Battery(good,100 percent)
-Bluetooth 2.1 module with EDR
-High Definition Audio 5.1 Surround Sound

For the price of RM3800, should i grab this? Or should i grab others instead such as G55/G53?

TQ in advance.

ps: i heard these model got battery consumption problem, is it true? And can it be solved using update?

Everything seems alright....just that GTX280m might not be able to handle gaming (i meant latest titles) smoothly. Not too sure u can upgrade it to any other aftermarket GPU or not....if it is upgrade-able....then this beast is really worth... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

im my own opinion. take G55..
its better if u wanted to play newer games.

Added on August 29, 2012, 3:44 pmwell anyways.. when i got my lcd and backcove replaced just now.
the technician sells awfully cheap ram(i think)..
samsung 4Gb for rm45 per piece..
i bought two..
and he wanted me to trade in my 2gb ram(idk which brand)
i don't want to since i could make it 14gb..
but he still wnated to sell it to him.
then later i sold it to him/trade in.

the thing is..
is it a valueable ram?
since he won't stop forcing me lol
