hello guys, on page 40 i posted:

"any headphone that is more comfortable than philips shp2700?

seems hard to find any nore comfortable to wear for long time, whatever the price range."

actually what i mean is that i i find that philips shp2700 (the old model, not the current black/grey model) is very comfortable (for a headphone) you can wear it for long time when i sleep, some more expensive headphone i can wear it for sometime but then it starts to get uncomfortable, and i have to take it off. some too much clamp, the material gets hot and sweaty etc..

not looking for iem actually as i found them obstrusive, and after wearing them for a while i alwys feel the need to take them off, unlike normal earphone which is usually more comfortable. but for headphone, there are many good quality headphone soundwise but comfort wise i dont have an idea which model is good for me to go and try.

so i just want to find a decent quality audio wise(not necessarily super high quality audiowise, but also not sub par audio) and excellent comfort headphone.

I would like to ask for suggestion here. I've been thinking to buy either Shure SRH840 or 940, but still not decide yet. Is it better to buy 840 and use the extra money to buy an amp, or 940 worth at that price? Is the 840 consider an upgrade from my ATH AD700? Also is there any other headphone to suggest me that is close.

- My Rig: laptop/PC and handphone
- Type of usage: 50% music and 50% gaming/movie
- File format: mostly mp3 and some flac
- Music genre: classics, rock, pop, R&B, jazz, etc
- Budget: ~rm1000
- Headphone/ earphone type: headphone(close)
- Other requirements (if any): Prefer something more detail and natural but have a bit more bass than my current ad700. Even if lack bass not that much problem since I not really a basshead. Also hope to get one that's comfortable since I'll be using it for at least few hours in a day.

Thank you

try look into audio technica AD series, perhaps AD300, this is the most comfortable headphone i've ever tried, some of my friends even sleep with it (which even i didnt do xD)

If I'm looking for a headphone with a mic and some control buttons as well. kinda narrow it down to sennheiser MM70i, Klipsch S4i and AiAiAi Pipe. which is the better of the lot? is there any other suggestion?

Thank you for the recommendation now a bit lean on the dt770 pro after looking at some reviews and users' comment... lol. Another question, any amp you can recommend for this? Also I saw Jaben got Christmas sales for dt880pro together with and iem and an amp (not sure still have stock or not but will ask later), is it a better choice if I can stretch a bit on my budget? icon_question.gif

well, bundles are cheaper than buying each one individually, and for amp, we got a sub thread for it

SRH840 has more bass compared to SRH940 while SRH940 has more details and more neutral. Comfort wise, velour pads of SRH940 win hands-down and the clamping force is not as tight as SRH840. I personally would recommend SRH940 over SRH840.

Most of the the headsets in the market are made for iOS devices. It will work with Galaxies with limited functions. As for HTC, you will need the FiiO LU1 cable to adapt which leaves you with very limited budget for the headset.
