Get the Lumia 710 instead. 610 is the low spec version of WP, so some limitation are in place.

WP does have it's limitations, but nothing i can't live without...but perhaps the fact i cant natively share files via Bluetooth comes close.

Frankly, this is the era of cloud storage. Skydrive/Dropbox should be your new best friend.

That may be true, but I can't go asking friends i want to share pics or a files with to "go register for skydrive, i'll send you the link" All they want is for me to send the pic to their phone.

But like you said, it is the cloud storage era and i don't NEED Bluetooth file transfer, but that would be really nice to have. Not everyone has a smartphone...yet

well, its a sharing that not necessary need bluetooth transfering anyway. every photos we took just upload to FB. that is! bet all of your friends got link over your FB will eventually see the photos.

sending sharing link using skydrive to your friends no need to register skydrive account just to catch the photos, sharing link will bring them straight to the photos album.

but i do believe every person on earth sure have hotmail id.

To everyone bashing WP for lack of features, let's look at it this way. iOS is 5 years old now, Android is 3.7 - 3.8 years old and WP7 is like what? 1.5 years old? Give it some time to shine.

Lack of bluetooth file transfer? Whatsapp exists and it's free. There's also Talkbox, Skype and Viber. The 2 main reasons for not having BFT are lack of proper file system (MSFT intended to make WP7 a walled garden) and malware, which can spread easily through BFT. The former will be rectified as MSFT opens up in WP8. The latter, no one knows.

My dad just bought the Nokia Lumia 610, didn't go for 710 due to budget constraints.
Just wondering, how do I setup the marketplace?

Do I follow as given in the link here, http://www.nokia.com/my-en/activation/
or do I set the region as Singapore instead? I read that if set Malaysia some of the apps cant be downloaded and that the app names will change to BM
