QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Dec 29 2011, 10:24 PM) ^ A much cleaner, concise, professionally written version of my jumbled up buffet-style writeup in my signature. Exactly my thoughts. Yours is really well written too. To those who have handled the SGS2 before, how much bigger would you say the Galaxy Nexus is? To those who have handled the Nexus S before, is the volume rocker of the Galaxy Nexus as easy-to-click as it? I personally feel the one on the Nexus S too easy to click. My brother is using S2, compared it side by side, in terms of size Nexus is only slightly taller... and that's about it. |

QUOTE(zemmien @ Dec 30 2011, 02:42 PM) thanks a lot for the advise guys ..so apart from the warranty, there are no other issues choosing the AP unit right? hope its 100% similar specs with SME unit soon .. I am 99.9% sure it will be the same phone. Later versions however they might swap some of the specs, e.g Nexus S SAMOLED & Nexus One's AMOLED are all changed into SLCD, and there's also S2 non G and G versions with different processors. So if any, its better to be the early adopter. QUOTE(hussain @ Dec 30 2011, 03:29 PM) Flashed James bond kernel over clocked to 1.35 ghz and under volt ..so damn smooth.will report back on battery life after a day or two. This shit can only get better...lol Same here. ARHD2.1.2 + JamesBond kernel 1.4Ghz with UV settings. SUPER SLIK. I'm not sure if its just some placebo effect though ![]() is this good or bad? mostly Wifi off (except for the first few minutes) screen auto brightness (with auto brightness patch) like 5~10 minutes of GTA III another 5~10 minutes of Falling Fred about 1 hour of reading (this article and DJFooo's article mainly actually, doesn't matter whether this is good or bad, as it is not the final result yet. Will have to give the kernel a 2~3 more charge cycles to finally judge. This post has been edited by phantomash: Dec 30 2011, 06:32 PM |

QUOTE(irenic @ Dec 31 2011, 01:32 AM) yes. i didn't had all 3 phones for long enough.. but my customers and i managed to took some photos to compare them. we tested lowest, max, and auto brightness setting and in all conditions they produce different colors. lol, I think we only noticed this when shaun yeap was trying to claim warranty for his device?below are the pics.. ignore the sharpness, but please focus on the color on each devices among the 3 I'd say the left one looks the best. |

those who are serious about screen protector, I suggest you guys to take a look at XO Skin. Based on XDA forum feedback, it seems to be the best available SP for GNex.

QUOTE(Doomsday @ Jan 1 2012, 10:05 PM) I read up review of XO Skins at XDA, alot people complain about the rubber feel on their GNex Orange skin effect is the rough surface like the orange skin... its very ugly imo BTW, whats orange skin effect? some might not be bothered by it though. Actually besides the orange skin effect, Flex is a pretty good SP too. QUOTE(Ji3MOON @ Jan 1 2012, 10:15 PM) planinng to get case mate tough series for my nexus..but after read some review..got prob matter on volume n power button..heard too tight @@..hmm...otterbox too bulky.. for case I am probably getting either Case Mate Barely There or Incipio Ultralight Feather I know they don't offer a lot of protection but I don't like to add too much bulk to the phone BTW, anyone who wants more from the camera, can consider getting lenses from Photojojo Some camera samples taken with GNex here ![]() |

QUOTE(Similan @ Jan 3 2012, 08:57 PM) That's de trouble wt android phones generally. U need to dedicate significant amt of effort and time to learn techie stuff like rom flashing just to fix all these basic problems. nope, you got it all wrong. If u r a student or somebody with plenty of time on ur hands, den flashing roms may not be an issue. Let's pray that google and the manufacturers will take note and do better next time. the difference is with Android you CAN do it yourself, if you're willing to. with other platform, you CAN'T even if you're willing to. get it? pretty simple concept isn't it? QUOTE(Doomsday @ Jan 4 2012, 09:45 PM) After carefully research, found out that there is really 2 types of XO skins for GNex. yup, which is why I asked, why Doomsday say make sure to buy case fit. Because that would be the "wrong" version imo. I want the SP to cover the whole screen, not leaving 10% space just to "fit some case". http://xoskins.com/samsung-galaxy-nexus-sc...tector-case-fit http://xoskins.com/cell-phone-skin-protect...creen-protector case fit is designed to have smaller size compared to the normal screen protector. Luckily research 1st before made the payment QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Jan 4 2012, 11:00 PM) o.O, finally have something earlier than SG actually with or without the root kit, GNex is extremely easy to root. haha wow 1 click @@ but require computer, lol if have a 1click to root / unroot apps, that was nice then This post has been edited by phantomash: Jan 4 2012, 11:21 PM |

QUOTE(zemmien @ Jan 5 2012, 10:15 AM) Guys, the battery is killing me better post a screenshot of your battery stat at the end of the day.Running ARHD with XXKK6 baseband Already close all auto snyc All day long mobile data is on but with very light usage for messengers less than 2MB per day. No gaming No surfing No camera/video (only front camera for face unlock purpose) <10 SMS 1 or 2 short call. Brightness <30% All i can say it idle most of the time just for some messengers with my friends and at 5pm battery only left 20%. Normal? Yes I know i can bring extra charger to office, but that's not the best solution imo but based on your usage, it should last at least 1 day easily |
