And there's the study that shows the mist from Usonic humidifier is too tiny it can carry a lot of impurities in it, since the water droplets are so small your nose will not filter it you can inhale it directly into your lungs. Regular mist droplets are much larger your nose will filter it and not inhale it directly.

Think of the virus/bacteria from your BH that you might inhale causing future problems from using Usonic ones, I've stopped using mine since.

Need some advice from sifus here. Lately my BHs have very serious flea problem, go into BH fleas crawl all over my feet and you all know how itchy it is for a few days to weeks after these fleas bite you.

I've sprayed Fendona in my BHs every 2 weeks and everything seems under control, but the Fendona is very expensive la, one litre bottle like $70-80? Any cheaper alternatives or any other brand name that kills those BH fleas more efficiently?

Sifu WW, I started spraying Fendona because some middleman complain my nests too many 'spots' which they say is because the chicks get bitten by fleas and the tiny spots are dried blood spots.

Since I started spraying bi-weekly for past 2 months the fleas have gone down significantly, I have another BH I use as control which I don't spray and that BH has significantly more fleas.

Any sifu has a link to download swiftlet test call sound?

A friend need to me check whether his land can build BH but since long time nobody even want to touch BH I lost my test call and it's nowhere to be found

The world is different nowadays, few hundred years ago there were no TV or internet to provide ppl with information. I think a similar issue you can compare in this case is the 毒牛奶 issue (melamine-laced milk powder). This happened in 2008 and in 2012 which is 4 years later whenever you talk about milk in China the 1st thing you'd think about is still this.

If you goto HK there are still tons of China ppl come to HK just to buy baby formula because they do not trust their milk powder still. Therefore, it is very sad to say this but I think the damage in the EBN issue has already been done. A lot of ppl are pissed, you imagine you pay so much $$ to buy red BN and it is actually 'smoked' by using swiftlet excrement. Ppl will not forget easily, this is just an example of how ppl wanting short term financial gains destroys the long term future of an industry,

I think it will be 3-4 years before BN price start going back up again, just too much negative news surrounding BN. Some argue BN price still same so high in China, but don't forget the demand is no longer there. The shop can sell for 50k a kilo but if nobody buy what different does it make? The low BN price is a direct result of low demand for BN.

I have an owl problem in one of my BH, just discovered last week the pellets of feather/bone that owls regurgitate in my BH.

The owl is nowhere to be seen which means it probably is familiar with the entrance etc of my BH already, how to stop it from coming?

Or do I need to eradicate the owl somehow.

Well I do have high voltage at entrance but I think it tripped for 2-3 weeks because I didnt visit the BH. Now got fren tell me that once the owl is familiar with the BH it will not need to stand at the entrance hole. So even though I turn the electric back on it will not kill it.

Not sure abt this hope I find a barbequed bird next time I go into the BH.

If I'm not mistaken, the walls in between shop lots should be double layer according to Malaysia building standards, that should be sufficient insulation from the afternoon heat. However, maybe a lot of small town developers cut corners and use only single layer bricks + cement bricks therefore the insulation drastically decreases. Clay (red) bricks can absorb and store more heat than sand (cement) bricks.

Therefore, only if your shoplot is an end lot or corner lot would you need to add another layer of brick around it to reduce the temperate inside the BH. The most practical thing to do is go to the shoplot you intend to turn into a BH during a hot afternoon and monitor the temperature, shouldn't be more than 30 celcius the best is around 27-28. From experience most of the heat is usually from the roof because very seldom do shoplots have slab roof, mostly zinc roof with just a layer of ceiling therefore you can imagine the heat that irradiates from the roof during a hot day.

As for the price, I donno how big your shoplot is you can actually calculate roughly how many bricks used, how many tons of planks need to use etc and calculate the whether the price quoted by the contractor is reasonable.

Sifu WW I need your advise regarding my BN. Recently when I sold some BN to a dealer he said my BN has 'lumut'. Then he chop my BN price 99.

I know the meaning of lumut in Malay is mold, basically he said the problem is there are tiny black dots along the part on BN where the nest sticks to the wooden planks.

But I asked around some ppl say not mold but because of fleas in the BH. So my question is, what is this lumut and how do I eradicate it?
