my trusty Saga is experiencing fans issue.
The aircond circulated hot air into the car. There were occasions when i stepped on the gas pedal, circling sound could be heard under the hood.
When i open the hood to inspect just now with the engine on, both the radiator fan and the other fan (aircond fan?) would stop spinning sometimes, and resume spinning after a while.
What seems to be the problems?

check your air cond fan motor (fan blade no need touch if its not broken such as cracks)
check cooling coil
check air cond compressor

radiator fan stop spinning is normal, as your engine is meant to run at optimal temperature, if its getting cooled, the radiator/pump will stop running to let the engine maintain its heat.

just finished my new exhaust setup at kweng (wai heng kaki exhaust serdang HQ) not too long ago. fully stainless steel, 4-2-1 extractor, 1.6" piping, 2" oval mid bullet, sflow muffler

My old extractor and it's cover, rusted to hell now, and notice the carbon on the cover? It's leaking D: http://twitpic.com/8oeeis
Old middle silencer versus the new bigger, more quiet center bullet http://twitpic.com/8oef6f
New s flow muffler, bigger and much more heavier than the old muffler http://twitpic.com/8oefij
Here's the old muffler, a lot lighter than the new s flow I'm getting. Piping on galvanized steel, so no rust. http://twitpic.com/8oeg7z
New extractor from the bottom view with flexible pipe attached http://twitpic.com/8oeki1
Hmm the welding on the pipe isn't as clean as the premade parts http://twitpic.com/8oexvu
Same goes for this one http://twitpic.com/8oexyp
How my new exhaust looks like on the "surface" smile.gif http://twitpic.com/8p226p
Fake twin outlet lol http://twitpic.com/8p22bq

all an all, really damn dirt cheap and cheerful setup for MYR770 lol

Really loving the sflow back pressure/scavenging effect, i can see how this shit can dramatically improve my FC already.
RPM doesnt drop like a rock and i can just let my foot off the accelerator. the car still continues to hold its RPM and speed. which feels amazing LOL

of course, pros and cons, while the low RPM/power band is awesome, my upper power band/top end suffered sad.gif
torque didnt seem as high as before after the 5k rpm. havent got the chance to fully try it out though.
that, and Malaysian roads' traffic jam, i guess i *CAN* live with some minor setbacks ^^;

oh as for the noise level, from within cabin, A TON quieter lol. and engine vibrations seems lesser maybe cuz the car breathes easier?
from outside especially near the muffler, it seems noisier. i think i can conclude that, the exhaust pitch is lower (more bass/less treble per say)
lower pitched sounds are harder to notice after all, especially within the cabin with more "resistance" from it.

the thing is....the term 'A/F tuning' every mech can do no matter who wor, they charge like 20 buck also claiming by nose...

the the confusion is why i need to let the mentioned 'person' above to tune for like 70 bucks? with the same work....what's the difference?

that's the point ><.....AFAIK a/f tuning is like pusing few screws and some say just they reset the screw position to default setting only...so nothing had been done? no testing?

uncle fred told me he also reset the a/f but he TUNE the 'main jet' which i have no idea about

so the question lies with" Car Tuning or A/F Tuning " which one is it and how they gonna do on individual topic

sorry for my amateurish question...realli confuse lo... ><

Mainjet is the bigger screw below the smaller mixture screw... And there is a lot more to carb tuning other than just turning the few screws. Yes i agree that proper tuing needs to be done with equipment to measure co in the exhaust for example..

For radiator it's normal... for aircon fan, when the aircon is on then the fan should be spinning... try to check on the underside of your dashboard, there is 1 air recirculating window. Check to see that the window is closing properly

If you really want proper tuning then go for AF Dyno Tune. No need to pening your kepala....

Carburetor is the most simple and easy thing to tune, you only need to be patient to tune your AISAN carbie.

Get someone who has some knowledge on carbie tuning and teach you on how to do it. Once tune, need to get a fresh set of plugs and see whether it's rich or not. This is 'bawah pokok' style and might not be accurate but at least you know that your engine is running on lean or rich mixture. To get stoich 14.7 mixture or performance 13.1 mixture just by using this method is not easy...

cant find chance to push my car le, havent been to night jobs lately that can go back early between 4-5am at sg besi highway, or purposely drive to putrajaya highway lol.
those that the best places i can think of that is straight/long enough for my car to really test out its maximum torque/speed.

best speed is still between 160-165. if it doesnt suffer too much from that figure, i can live with it la

and cannot weih no silent, during my time at the exhaust shop, some dude change exhaust from oem to straight flow no center bullet direct pipes. jesus christ the noise! if i had some form of weapon of mass destruction i may have already blow up that satria right there and then vmad.gif

btw a question, ever since new exhaust done, i noticed my check "engine oil indicator" no longer lights up, is the sensor or something located at the extractor? o_O
do we actually need it? lol

=edit=
after googling, looks like its the oil pressure switch. how does that relate to the exhaust/extractor?

AFI Brake rotors... brows.gif Okey poison...

From my experience... this is vr4 1.8 single pot brakes... rotor is using waja/perdana one same... brake pad use old nissan gtr n/a , nissan sentra , hyundai sonata 1989-2005 pads ... Service of brake caliper oil seal , bla bla... can use saga/iswara one same... bearing also same as saga/iswara one... knuckle PNP in... but the hub u need to skim it before u can fit in the rotors... thats the only mod u have to do if planning to masuk this...
