is it the one whos selling 35mm and 50mm for cheaper than market price?
and claims got full warranty?

Added on January 4, 2012, 9:44 pmeven if its not local set, there are no 50mm 1.8g with a 6-digit serial.

Added on January 4, 2012, 9:47 pmhmm k u got no warranty card, so diff seller.

wow 1st time seeing a nikon lens like that.
weird that the box is printed without a serial number and someone go paste handwritten one over.

Noob question, and please ignore if u think it’s a stupid one.

Manufacturer of Nikon is Japan, and establish few factory in Thailand as well as China. The main question is, the price in these 3 countries, is it standardise? Plus when we purchased the goods from US or other countries, the price tend to increase because of the freight charges and tax imposed (if any). Looking at the distance between these countries to Malaysia, its quite nearer compared to US and the Europe sides. So does this make huge different to the price itself, or directly lower price in Malaysia compared to Europe?
*
for some companies doesnt matter where its made, but after manufacture they will ship the completed items back to the main HQ which for nikon is in japan, then only shipped out worldwide.
US also probably higher priced abit, cos nikon there offers 5yr warranty.

oic. then regardless where u buy the camera/lens, the price is more or less the same rite?
aaa..and your point is? We are spesifically referring to Nikon which only have 3 Factory, instead of Nike which have hundreds of factory worldwide.
*
well, obvious way is to obviously look at retail prices.
check some latest models.

D5100 w/ kit - RM2698 = USD859, retail in US is USD849.
50mm 1.8G - RM798 = USD254, and in US actual retail is USD249.

all just depends how much profit the retailer wants to make from cost.

if compare with UK, then gg tongue.gif
D5100 kit retail there is 900 pounds = RM4400.
50mm 1.8G retail there is 199 pounds = RM979.

for those europe countries, i dont think its so much the tax.
i guess its more like they're all stuck up ppl, so any product also they want their retail price to be almost 1-to-1 with US one.

woohoo, D4 made in...uhh malaysia? china? biggrin.gif

Added on January 6, 2012, 11:43 amcant brain nikon pricing structure right now.
D3x retail is USD8000, while D4 is going to be USD6000?

so when D4 comes out, would that mean D3x will have a sudden drop to say USD5000?
or should D4 be much more expensive? or maybe just cos its not made in japan? tongue.gif

it looks more to me like nikon priced the D4 at that range, cos canon previously priced their flagship 1Dx around the same.

Maybe but do you see a logic if they priced a 16MP D4 higher than a 24MP D3X?
*
going by that logic, canon 1ds3 should still be more expensive than 1dx, but its not.
still looks like nikon are trying to go head to head with canon.

add in malaysian price, and most likely sell around rm1.8-1.9k.

You sure 1DsMk III is more expensive than 1Dx?

I thought 1Dx estimated retail price is around RM 22k.
like i said.
going by ur logic that bodies with more megapixel count is more expensive, which D3x is over D4.
would put 1ds3 to be more expensive than 1dx, but its not.

simply cos the 1ds3 has been discontinued, whereas nikon still keeps the d3x in their line.

Added on January 6, 2012, 7:15 pmanyway, lets just wait and see.

just wondering.. if i am interested to buy some old lens (AiS) what should I look out for?
fungus?
scratches?
and the smoothness of the manual focus?
aperture settings still working fine?
is there anything else that I left out?
*
aperture blades not sticky.
lens coating still there.
filter ring not damaged.
lens mount not cracked.

i noe ur chinese, just put it since ur nick is Japanese-like.

BTW does the warranty card valid without the cop/signature? Or nowadays Nikon Center just check the warranty trough serial number only? in which if the lens/body is 2010' stock, the goods are off warranty d since the serial number is recorded as 2010 goodies.
*
its standard for any dealer to chop and fill up the date on warranty card, and most of the time also nikon will ask for receipt when comes for warranty.
also if they see ur warranty card is not filled, they will ask u on the spot to fill it up based on the details on the receipt.
as for serial number, i also heard of warranty being denied cos the date of the lens doesnt tally with the date on the fake receipt...would make sense if its a hot selling item...
2010 sometimes its still ok, but say a 24-70 with serial from 2008 and ur receipt is 2011? they probably ask u go die tongue.gif

btw there is a seller here who is selling lenses, with chops from shops that do not even know whats going on.
and they dont provide receipt, basically they duplicate the shop's chop...so beware.

TTL-BL should be in the SB900 ever since the start.
even sb600 and sb800 has that option.

TTL-BL is also the default mode for SB700, not sure on the SB910 if it borrows that part also from the SB700.
its already borrowed its buttons also tongue.gif
