mcp35x2 new pump? Any review on it
Wonder the performance compared to the Swiftech MCP655-B
*
martinsliquidlab has a nice review HERE
this MCP-35X2 @ 43% PWM ~ 5.16v is on par with dual MCP655.
note that single pump MCP35X @ 12v is already a winner over a single MCP655 @ 12v.
Just that MCP-35X2 & MCP35X tend to get hot & noisy when flow rate is high & higher PWM.

No idea on the screws & torn sticker but my parcel from FrozenCPU, one of the 4 FC7970 blocks i orded has torn packaging & broken plastic bag. Quite bad condition but the block is perfect, fortunately. Customs didnt open my parcel so not their fault.

XSPC 7970/7950

user posted image

QUOTE
AMD's Radeon HD 7970 and 7950 graphics cards may have their default coolers, but for those who want their hardware chilled with water, XSPC has created the Razor 7970.

The block is made in such a way that, while allowing the card to take up a single expansion slot, it cools all components that generate heat.

That means that not just the GPU, but also the 12 GDDR5 memory chips and the VRM come in contact with the metal.

The VRM cover is made of aluminum, while the rest of the components get copper assistance.

XSPC sells the Razor 7970 waterblock in a bundle with four G1/4″ ports and two G1/4″ plugs. As such, CrossFire multi-card setups can easily be prepared.

Unfortunately, the price might not agree with everyone: £82.67, the equivalent of $131 / 97.73 Euro.

Caution. We have been warned about a change on some AMD reference HD 7970 graphics cards (AMD 109-C38637-00) which now use one capacitor slightly higher (about 1mm higher) than what it was originally.

EK has already responded to the change and is now selling modified version that fit past this capacitor.

Use of old, original EK-FC7970 on these changed cards may result in burned graphics card! Please double check the height of all capacitors prior to installing the water block.

I just rearrange it and turn out the distance between radiator and T-block/rotary is quite far, roughly 20mm between both barbs, I don't think I need d plug for that. So the only question now is which combo should I get? 90 degree rotary + extender or T block + stopper?
*

Just use tubing would it possible? Otherwise i'd go for 90R + extender combo.

before and after
the purple one is from the gpus loop
red is from the other loop
both are EK Koolant red blood
i hv the same issue with EK blood red in both CPU & GPU loops. The color will get darker after few weeks i think due to heat. But at least it wont clog my loop like Primo blood red dye. I diluted the EK 50% with distilled. Somehow i didnt observe this on concentrated EK as per advice by EK not to mix with other coolant.

What makes u choose this over T-block? I just want something that won't add restriction to the loop.
*
90R + ext looks more neat & uses less tubing as compared to T-block. tongue.gif

Didn't see the diference of restriction between these two as both are still 90 angled although t-block has bigger inert.

HX-1080 is the brazed aluminum heat exchanger used in the Koolance ERM-3K3UA cooling system, designed for 9 x 120mm fans. This version is enclosed in a steel frame with identical M4 threaded holes on both sides for mounting and fans. G 1/4" BSP inlet and outlet, 388x437x34mm, 2.8kg (6.2lbs). Enough BLT-HX025 hardware is included to mount all nine fans. NOTE: Hose barbs are recommended for this product to avoid conflict from one of the nozzle sockets.

Outside is the best
this way even the sides of the radiator radiate the heat off with the flow of air in the room compared to internals which is less
just looks ugly to some
*
Somehow putting rad outside case will make dust issue & longer tubing than internal. Mobility is another problem.

So the bigger the rad the faster it can dissipate heat compared to a smaller bit thicker one? (Provided that the ambient temp and fans used are same.)

You said something about the fans...you mean big but slim rad must use faster fans? :star:

Anyways thanks notworthy.gif
*
i'd go with RS360.
I don't think you're going to put just 2 fans on the triple rad right?
so that extra fan is another point.

how is your 7970 waterblocks corroded yet?
i am starting to worry for mine
weren't you upgrading to gtx680
*

My triple FC7970 blocks are still fine inside the SB-E rig. No corrosion at all.
Just changed the coolant from ugly dark purplish EK Bloodred to Primochill Bloodred few days ago.

I will grab a ref GTX680 within these few days & put it under water in my IB rig.
Heard the EK FC680 wb already arrived APES office a few hours ago so just in time to sambar one plexi-nickel for me. thumbup.gif

considering to add another 7970 to the rig. Not sure it is the right path or abandon 7970 and go for the gtx680

if you think not enough with single GPU, then go for multi GPUs. smile.gif
7970 vs GTX680? there's no clear winner between these two.
Both are the best cards from each camp.
