QUOTE(oyching88 @ Jul 5 2016, 06:40 PM) I doubt it can really clean a 20m2 room effectively by its size. The power consumption also higher (30W at medium speed) maybe due to plasma cluster ion generator, while atmosphere air purifier is below 15W with medium speed. Air purifier should be on 24/7 without switching off as contaminants like haze, virus and formaldehyde are everywhere all the time. Atmosphere air purifier is using German made fan motor which can last for more than 10 years without excessive heat production. That's why it is more expensive, more effective. Just a reference for u since u going to buy 1, better buy a better 1 which last for a long time without worry. Thanks for the info. Yes i am aware of that.

QUOTE(ozak @ Jul 5 2016, 10:26 PM) ON 24/7 ? You no go outdoor? Or you need oxygen tank when outdoor? You cannot run an air purifier for a couple of hours and expect your air to remain clean after that. Dust and allergen are present all the time, you won't know when will the bacteria or virus present. A good air purifier is made to works 24/7 without failure. To conserve energy, turn it to low speed when you leave your house. Or if your room is sealed, than it would be different

Bought a Sharp FPF40 few months back to try, pretty happy with it as using in room.
Just bought KCD40E last week for the living hall. So far so good. As i also have my windows and doors close all the time due to having cats at home.

QUOTE(cavaliars @ May 8 2016, 09:50 AM) The Sharp ion generator only have lifespan of 2years? After 2 years need to change? anybody change before? how much does it cost? What is the effect if we don't change? Am using Sharp air purifier with humidifier for 4+years. Changed the hepa filter and water filter once. Cost around 300 for both parts. It's ideal to change the water filter every year and the hepa filter once every 2 years. But I use until near 3 years baru change...

According to review, the Sharp KCD60EW's filter life span can last 10 years. Is this really possible? Where would all the dust go? Stucked in the filter for 10 years?

QUOTE(ozak @ Aug 11 2016, 10:38 AM) You didn't read the manual ? It's not about the manual, it's over claim. Most of HEPA filter need to change within 5 years depend on the usage and air quality.

QUOTE(elblink @ Jul 2 2016, 09:05 PM) Interested to get the Sharp FPF30LH Plasmacluster Air Purifier for Haze. My room about 20m2 only. Can this filter smoke from burning rubbish? There's neighbour who keeps burning rubbish during the evenings. Lazada selling at rm399. http://www.lazada.com.my/sharp-fpf30lh-pla...y-11141295.htmlCan be trusted? Or any member selling? Thanks! Hi, I suggest you to buy FPF40 as this model comes with auto mode which the unit itself comes with dust/odor sensor where it will automatically switch to higher air flow volume when it detected those unwanted particles in air. Alternatively, you can consider to buy Panasonic as even it's not as famous as sharp in air purifier products, but rest assure that matsushita group is producing one of the best quality air purifier in the market. Open the unit and compare the filter quality then you will know what I trying to tell.

Just need to be clean by using vacuum on the correct side. QUOTE(cavaliars @ Aug 15 2016, 09:23 AM) It is common sense to read the manual before you use the unit. What to maintenance and etc. Manufacturing know very well their product than you. Like such big company, they do R&D about everything. So how do we believe such people said? How to tell it clog and dirty? Did he do some experiment to prove that filter is justify to change ? This make your unit using costly with more frequent to change the filter.
