Uses Mi Air Purifier for 1 Year already...

conclusion

1: Very good air purifier... easily filter living room (Apartment 500-600 sqft living room)
2: When I cook, I notice the Purifier speed up cause need to filter the cooking smell... intelligent enough for me
3: Set it to Auto, been running 24x7 since day 1, still very quiet and so far still good, very quiet when air is clean
4: Filter Haze very very well, and smart phone app can detect realtime via cloud the air quality
5: Replacement filter still hard to find and a little expensive in Malaysia, will try order from China see if it work...
*
u on it 24x7 since day 1 for 1 years and so far no issue and no need to change filter?

Well I am more of a detail person. I really ask n need to know information before making a decision. They maybe stupid to some but not to a person who needs that information. so if you could share more in detail instead of a more wide answer will b appreciated.

After all that's what these forums are for right - to maturely share feedback

Agree with you on this, Still my statement stands.
But to let you understand more, you need to begin with your surrounding area's atmosphere.
Like you need to know what industrial area nearby your area, follow by knowing what type of waste gas they are releasing. This will be your selection criteria.
After checking out Panasonic and Philips air purifier, they basically remove nothing related to waste gas or gases that released from vehicles.
So is it useful? I doubt it.

you also must understand in a forum there are many ignorant ppl...
saying that buying air purifier is stupid just because it doesnt serve one particular purpose he wants is just outright ignorant... is just like saying getting a car with airbag is useless because it will still kill you when hit by oncoming truck...

initially im also a bit skeptical on air purifiers... but since my baby is expecting and wife insisted, so got my room a unit... but dont on it often since i was skeptical and wanted to save electricity cost...
my nose is very sensitive to dust and have sinus occasionally... one night i couldnt sleep for hours due to nose blocked... then i just decided to just on the air purifier, to my surprise, within 15 minutes my nose isnt blocked anymore, and i could sleep again...

so right now i on it at least 8+ hours per day... the electricity bil went up less than RM20 per month...

For plasma cluster, the ion will bound with the contaminant like bacteria and thus increasing the size and mass of the particle and bring it into the air purifier or just drop on the floor.

When coming to air purifier, there are few important stuff to consider whether it is effective air purifier.
1)CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) this is not how big the area will the air purifier will work, it's the air delivered aftter the filter.
2)Air flow performance
3)Type of filtration
4)Third party certification (such as allergy UK society & AHAM)

The better the CADR, the air purifier will deliver more cleaner air through output.
The air flow performance will determine how well the filtered air delivery to entire space.
When comes to type of filtration, many brands now qualify for HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) which only requires the air purifier to filter at least 0.3 micron particle. The better quality of HEPA, the better the air purifier works.
AHAM (Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers) is a third party organisation which test and certify electronics. If the air purifier is certified by AHAM, it will be good. Same goes to allergy UK society which certify the effectiveness of air purifier by comparing removal of harmful allergens.

https://www.aham.org/
https://www.allergyuk.org/products-and-serv...g/air-purifiers
You can play around with the Allergens/Irritants criteria to check which air purifier effectively remove the contaminants.

The purpose of getting air purifier is to have better & clean air quality for our house. In a closed indoor such as living room, the contaminant can be up to 5 times more worst compared to outdoor.
If the air purifier is cheap but the effectiveness is not good, then better don't buy it as you spend the money but it won't help much.

I do recommend Atmosphere Air Purifier as it is certified by both Allergy UK & AHAM and it is hospital grade air purifier as well.
The best thing is it comes with full list of contaminants removal spec sheet which most of the air purifier not able to provide.

I doubt it can really clean a 20m2 room effectively by its size.
The power consumption also higher (30W at medium speed) maybe due to plasma cluster ion generator, while atmosphere air purifier is below 15W with medium speed.
Air purifier should be on 24/7 without switching off as contaminants like haze, virus and formaldehyde are everywhere all the time. Atmosphere air purifier is using German made fan motor which can last for more than 10 years without excessive heat production. That's why it is more expensive, more effective.
Just a reference for u since u going to buy 1, better buy a better 1 which last for a long time without worry.
