QUOTE(Materazzi @ Nov 27 2011, 05:40 PM) were you saying malaysia is not safe? Try to live in penang to know what safe means. I don't think so. Prices of property is crazy in Penang Island. For myself, I prefer singapore because it gives me city and vibrant life. I don't like living in the village. Added on November 27, 2011, 5:43 pm why do people in malaysia not be able to retire at 50? If they choose to retire, I think they should be able to retire with the cost of living in penang very cheap. My plate of char kuey teow also shrinking by the years |

QUOTE(crazy25kid @ Nov 28 2011, 09:51 AM) wtf is this shyt? Kampung girls these days are different man. They are as materialistic as city girls if not more so. These days i go kampung and i see young girls with LV bag and prada shoes. Further they are also all looking for that rich guy to marry and want to live the tai-tai lifestyle like they see on TV. Blame it on the media so "kampung" girl parents will only know how to ask money from u? "kampung" girl does not know how to work? |

QUOTE(Materazzi @ Nov 29 2011, 11:44 PM) you don't agree with whom? wrong quote la.. I spoke to a few in my bank and what they say was that those girls who say they prefer asians could be a) they really prefer asians because of upbringing, etc b) coz they cannot snag a angmoh bf. Those that study or exposed overseas are more angmoh oriented than the local, local ones.I prefer the average one la than those models look, the number one is personality above beauty, the better the inner beauty I like. I am someone who can't control my jealousy haha... mercury84, dun generalise those sg galz.. I heard from my sg friends they prefer asians than whites. |

QUOTE(seantang @ Dec 6 2011, 12:04 PM) Not really leh. Depends on how you eat. My lunch is typically between $10-15 (Jack's Place, Crystal Jade Kitchen, bento lunch etc). Even if it's chap fan, a nice piece of fish, meat and 3 veges will cost $6-7 bucks. Including a drink, averaging about $30-40 a day for 3 meals. Then each weekend, my groceries will be about $50-$100. And if go to nice restaurants and have a durian weekend... the it all goes to hell. Walau this one really extravagant lunch. How is it even possible to finish 1 fish, 1 meat and 3 veggie chap fan??? I max max also 1 meat and 3 veggie for S$3.50....anything more stomache also burst.. |

QUOTE(wseng @ Dec 6 2011, 10:12 AM) Just to add on... we did a calculation last time.. You forget to include Geylang expenses, KTV expenses and clubbing expenses if really were to save on money i think overall expenses of around SGD1.5k (include everything from room to makan) is quite feasible.. Room : SGD 500-700 Makan : SGD 5 per meal (5 x 3 x 30) Mobile phone : SGD 30 Transport : SGD 5 per day (5 x 30) Misc : SGD 200 Adds up : 500+450+150+200 = SGD 1300 hence.. probably can get a 2.5k a month .. then savings of 1k per month .. 12k per year, and within 5 years.. can get 60k... That's RM 144k.... That's a very conservative figure... I would see that as quite a handsome sum as maybe many in the twenties working in MY would not achieve this easily... |

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Dec 10 2011, 10:07 AM) Just look at the graph, It falls a few time. I had waited and bought mine in one of the low period. What BS is this?If one day when RM1 = SGD2. Do you think people will buy over priced SG properties even it has limited land? IMO, why people keep buying property here is due to the confident on SG economy, it have not fail before don't means it will never fail. For sure you Will see price increase in the long run for All item from coffee, bas fare to housing. Don't need to PhD researh or graph to tell you, common sense will do. Reasons, let the PhD student think lah. I don't think he know the answer yet. But, the fact that SG has limited land and the gov have great control over the market means the price can manipulated. Property sector, like all asset classes, go through peaks and bottoms. That does not mean nobody will want to buy. People will continue to buy properties as long as SG maintains an open, buoyant, competitive and effecient economy. Immigration here is a breeze compared to alot of other countries and coupled with low income tax, it will lure the very best or the cream of the crop. These people have the means and money and they will need a place to stay. SG economy will NEVER fail as long as they keep their open, buoyant, competitive and effecient economy and continue their generous immigration policies for the RIGHT people. This means skilled or senior management people who are movers and shakers of economy in their own respective countries. These people create jobs for others. They practically could create money out of thin air (with their brains). Its called human talent. Something Malaysia is seriously lacking. And because they do not rely on natural resources, they are not worried that it will eventually run out. SG gov NEEDS to control the market to AVOID over speculation or under investment. Property prices that are too high or too low is not good for any country. The trick is to find equilibrium. |

QUOTE(r1v3r @ Dec 11 2011, 09:23 AM) Read from earlier post lah. The rubbish is the same 'bs' lah. Well then i really don't understand your definition of fail.I was replying the "SG property price will never drop". I said that is only true IF SG economy is doing well. You said SG will never fail as long as blah blah blah... That is a conditional statement already. All price increase in long run but price will DROP in short term during adjustment. If US can fail, don't BS SG will NEVER fail lah. To me fail means the economy totally collapse like Zimbabwe. That's fail Both US and SG will NEVER be in that state or anywhere near that state. |

QUOTE(ky_khor @ Dec 12 2011, 04:08 PM) Traffic congestion issue is getting worse in Sg. Why are we moving to Sg, just to hope that Sg can be more JB, KL like? You want a lot of car park space, no traffic jam, low income tax, easy car ownership etc. then maybe you should try to work in Brunei instead. There not many people, good benefits and no income tax. And then I still hear people complain say Brunei is boring lar, shops close at 8 p.m. lar, sleepy town with nothing to do lar....blah...blah....blah....Car park space is one of the worst enemy for city development, according to articles I've read in the past. Everywhere has its pros and cons lar. One just needs to weigh it all up and decide which is suitable |
