QUOTE(leeyung @ Nov 16 2011, 02:28 PM) ic, any references for Amp vs thickness wire? I search around, found AWG (American Wire Gauge) I roughly calculate, a 2HP aircon 5.4KW 2hp don't drain to much current. The number you got is cooling capacity. Not current. 2HP should be less than 2Kw. Please check the current or power input. Is about 10 amp the most.said it is single phase 5400/240 = 22.5A, means I have to go for 4mm at least? 2.5 mm cant? Added on November 17, 2011, 3:04 am QUOTE(Eng_Tat @ Nov 16 2011, 03:07 PM) Depend the length, and also if its expose or conceal. Usually conceal will be less current cause less cooling. But that number is about right. Can still stress a bit more if length are not too long and expose. This post has been edited by weikee: Nov 17 2011, 03:04 AM |

1HP is 0.735 KW (electrical motor), I'll add 30% for losses. so 2hp = 2x 0.735 + 30%

QUOTE(amirsubhi @ Nov 17 2011, 10:51 AM) i confuse, at first was talking about water heater, then suddenly aircond Depend, lol anwyay, how about power consumption for water heater, how high it will be Instant water heater go from 100watt to 3600 watt cause you can adjust the heating element. Storage water heater 3000 Watt (Joven). Solar Power also need power, this you need to check the spec. Added on November 17, 2011, 12:25 pm QUOTE(leeyung @ Nov 17 2011, 11:28 AM) Because of losses. This post has been edited by weikee: Nov 17 2011, 12:25 PM |

If you set max temperature, his high current it sure generate some heat. If is just warm and with good quality cable you don't have to worry much. If lousy quality cable, longer you use it will turn brittle and copper will oxidized.
Don't use 100%, 80% of setting, and reduce pump speed. |

It all depend of the water temperature and flow. 99& of the market instant water heater use heating element which is very reliable. If water flow too fast you won't get hot water. If water too cold you don't too. Got to play around with water pressure.

QUOTE(hontoni1983 @ Sep 9 2013, 05:51 PM) Purchased Alpha Smart 18i from Perfect Lifestyle fair a week ago, and they have came for installation yesterday, this is the first time in my life that i am installing water heater (all the while,my parents refuse to install heater because worry of electricity leakage),and holy shit, they use a PVC pipe to connect the output of my original rain water shower output to the heater input, and now, I can see the whole PVC pipe naked on the tiles which is about 2 meter long..... Instant water heater will have this problem, any type you use sure will see the pipe. You can use stainless steel pipe that will make it nicer. Have to pay higher price.Oh my god,i really can't accept that after spent so much of money to renovate the house, and the ugly part appear in the toilet!!! Really learnt my lesson, anybody here got idea how to overcome this?? except drill hole and put the pipe inside, and redo the tiles?? |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Sep 9 2013, 08:38 PM) if you read some of the questions people are asking just on this page alone, you can see that there must be a possibility Haha sometime I wonder...that they wont know if their homes are equipped for storage heaters or not. copper pipe is concealed. only thing showing is a mixer knob or two depending on design. you'd be surprised how many wont know Well When buy new house the developer will put it in the brochure ma. If old house will see got switch but no wires on the bath room + mixer. |
