QUOTE(chris_doe @ Jan 27 2012, 04:36 PM) I am planning to get a multi-coated clear filter (as protection for the lens) that will fit perfectly for the x10 instead of the adapter/lenshood combo They quoted me usd23.00 inclusive of shipping cost( multicoated ) for 1 pc so count meI am ordering a 'Marumi 40mm Clear Multicoated Filter' and wondering that there must be other x10 users out there that might want one as well so that we can share the shipping costs. Check out this website (in the middle of the page) website for marumi filter online shop This filter is smaller, complete sealed, and won't block much of the OVF compared to the lenshood. Price without shipping Marumi 40mm Clear Filter for the Fuji X10 $17.80 Marumi 40mm Clear Multicoated Filter for the Fuji X10 $26.62 Just sent an email to 2filter.com to inquire about the shipping costs and approximate time it will take to arrive, will update you all again if there are any interests in if group purchase is cheaper. QUOTE(ianho @ Jan 28 2012, 02:15 PM) Very nice ad. Very poisonings. I wish I had the money to buy this expensive camera. The key word you missed is "single coated". The following link is to a Aiyoyoooooooooo u paid rm200? LCd protector is rm10. Filter they always give the cheapest type worth about rm20. Hoya n B+W filter no good????????? Then u want Leica filter? U think f2 on a 4x crop is better than f2.8 on a 1.8x crop????? That my friend......... is called Placebo Effect. Filter review site. It shows the performance difference between single coated and multicoated filters of popular brands. http://www.lenstip.com/113.1-article-UV_fi...troduction.html Those who plan to buy Marumi filter for their X10 pls compare the Marumi multicoated( no. 21) with the Marumi single coated(no.20) The single coated one is basically junk. QUOTE(chris_doe @ Jan 29 2012, 12:50 AM) Included to share the shipping costs Yes, That's the price they quoted for 1pc multicoated shipped using usps first class mail1) ahtiven 2) aquos Below is the reply i got : Hi Chris, The Shipping cost would be $15.31, the first shipment of these are expected in a few weeks. Thank you, Andrea Sales@2filter.com The Filter Connection Aquos, are you sure the price you quoted was inclusive of product and shipping costs? because the btw, i stay in Petaling Jaya area, we can discuss much later about how to collect the goods (no need to sign for it at our end.). They quoted lump sum but this form of shipping is about usd5.00 so the filter is usd18.00 discounted from usd26 listed. You will notice they offer very high discounts for their other filters. You need to be clear with them and specify how may pcs and which form of shipping you prefer. |

My x10 with 46mm filter and adapter. Filter same diameter as the zoom ring so
the camera looks like it has a interchangeable lens attached. ![]() |

QUOTE(joeroxworld @ Feb 1 2012, 01:10 AM) Mostly so I can use normal pinch type lens cap. Dont like the original cappumping and sucking action when you put on and remove it.( I imagine the dust circulating in the camera due to that) I have always used filters on all my lens and dont see any quality difference but I am sure in some situations there will be. Unlike 52mm or 49mm the 46mm filter dont block the OVF much and looks ok on the lens. |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Feb 22 2012, 12:16 PM) Tried 40.5mm filters at the shops, won't fit and so hard to find 40mm filter & lens cap. Ended up ordering JJC hood to fit Hoya HD filter & lens cap. >_> Hey, Orbs are supposed to be round but yours is banana shape. Also ordered Nikon Hot Shoe cover for RM9.50 and the only shutter release button on Shashinki lulz. The orb problem can be very severe at ISO 100 but above 1600 it's gone. Just hope Fuji will do something about this but i kinda doubt they will. Might as well improve the sensor and rename it X11. Other than that somewhat major problem, this thing takes freaking nice photos. My flickr if anyone interested. I seldom get orbs so not bothered by them. I like X10 because its JPEG are excellent and I am lazy and not good at post processing. Enjoy your camera Added on February 22, 2012, 2:09 pm QUOTE(anthrax33 @ Feb 21 2012, 11:35 AM) I am not ordering, pls refer to chris_doe to order. Others have reported similar results after sensor change. High noise level at
low iso in medium size. It seems to have changed EXR performance somewhat. Some are going back to old firmware also. I am still on the old firmware and sensor and quite happy with results i am getting. |

QUOTE(Joseph Hahn @ Jul 8 2012, 09:21 PM) If it's ok then don't. Maybe they gave you a new lens too as reported by some US owners.I seem to be facing another problem. Since the lens & sensor combo is new it's pretty tight. And it's hard for me to get to f2 once i zoomed out and zoomed in again. Not impossible just harder than usual. You have posted some nice pic of Malacca in the past. You can help me decide by snapping some daylight pic of Malacca colourful river scene (some using EXR mode ) when you are free and post it here. Nowdays Malacca is so colourful and much improved. Its a photographer dream becos everything is within walking distance. |

Dpreview finally posted their indepth review of the X10 using camera with new
sensor. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilm-x10 On page 16. IMAGE QUALITY COMPARED(JPEG) I compared with XZ-1 and S95 and find the X10 is softer than XZ-1 at various iso. It is also not much better than S95. Is it my tired eyes or the new sensor. hmmmmmmm. To change or not to change to new sensor |

"Thank you for your patience in waiting for the new sensor to become available for your FUJIFILM X10 camera and we hope that you have enjoyed using it since we returned it to you.
Unfortunately, it has come to our attention that when shooting using particular settings, a limited number of sensors may produce a grainy (noisy) image. The settings are not commonly used (low ISO, high DR and M file size), so you may not have noticed this problem arise. However, we are anxious to correct this issue. All it needs is a very quick and simple software adjustment, which, unfortunately, needs to be done at our Service Centre. We will not need to open up or disassemble your camera, just update the software to correct this one bug. This issue affects a limited number of cameras handled by our UK Service Centre, which acts as a service hub for the UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Austria and Switzerland. We are very sorry to cause this disturbance again. We are happy to make this adjustment whenever you are able to leave the camera with us for a few days. We will send you out a protective postal bag as soon as you contact us, and we will return the camera as soon as we can. Of course, the delivery costs will be met by us. Please contact us either on our helpline 0844 553 2322 or the email address ‘Xseries@fuji.co.uk’. Once again, we are very sorry for this trouble. We want to make sure that the FUJIFILM X10 produces the very best results, and were keen to let you know of this issue as soon as we could. Kind regards Customer Service Manager FUJIFILM UK" |

On the X10 when we use the MULTI AF Mode the camera selects the focus area
automatically and on my camera there is always only one focus frame which turn green. Most other cameras like the S95 and RX100 there are 4 or 5 focus frames lighting up the areas in focus at the same time. Is it possible to get multiple focus frames on our X10? or are my settings wrong somewhere. X10 users please help Never mind, I will ask Fuji people when I send it fo sensor replacement next month.
