Hey guys I'm form 5 this year and am interested in business area.BUT i'm a science stream student taking BIOLOGY,CHEMIS,PHYSICS.Fortunately im taking an extra subject account principle. I have told my parents abut my aspiration but they told me that i should go for science because it is wider than art stream.

was considering to take accountancy and finance.

do u intend to pursue a pre-u course such as A-level or form 6 or do u intend to take a foundation course?
*
If you have your mind set in doing Accounting and Finance, by all means go for a foundation.

If you are still torn between doing Accounting and Finance or followed what your parent wants you to do, please go for an A Level, AUSMAT or SAM.

Only go for STPM if you have financial prob or you wish to go into a public uni.

Hope it helps! smile.gif

Dear anyone,Im interested in Food science and I graduated from SPM. I picked UCSI for this course because this course is quite rare and ofcourse UCSI is near to my living place. But the problem is "Im not from science stream". UCSI told me that they allow me to take Foundation in Science (and then upgrade to Food Science and Nutrition degree) but they said I cant get PTPTN loan when im studying degree because im not a science stream student(means im not qualified to study Foundation in Science but the faculty and school still let me in). Without ptptn loan i think i cant continue taking this course because my parents cant afford the tuition fee.Is this true?? thats what UCSI told me and im lack of time for thinking wad course to take. 2nd option for me may be Architecturial and ofcourse UCSI too. Im in a very nervous condition now...

Anyone can help??
*
Hmmm. Funny case. The only condition of SPM that I know stops you in getting PTPTN loan is you failed your BM.

I'm guessing by admitting a non-science stream student into Food Science, this university is actually breaking the policy set by MoHE. Hence, if you apply PTPTN, you are indirectly exposing this matter to MoHE that would really tarnish the university reputation if MoHE decide to investigate.

Of course. Or do a double degree in Computer Engineering + Business.

Anyway, if you do a Diploma in IT, I'm not quite sure if this Diploma enables you to join a Business Degree. hmm.gif

How do we know which school provides the subjects we want in Form 6? Thru internet or just go to their school?

If we go to their school, we should ask who?

After STPM, do we get to choose the subjects we want or the gov will choose for us?

What is O-Level? I got really confused between A-Level and O-Level..

If I were to study Graphic Design or Animation or Multimedia, should I just study in Malaysia or go to Japan if I can afford to?

Currently finished my SPM, interested in Mechanical Engineering. Have a few questions. Is A-levels accepted worldwide? Or different colleges only link to different university? Because I'm thinking of doing Pre-U first (A-levels) and then from there (hopefully) I'll make up my mind 100% already and planning to complete my studies overseas. People told me I have to find out which uni i am going to first, but I have really no idea what Uni are there, please advise.

Thank you!

A Level is accepted worldwide. You can even apply for scholarship worldwide if your Alevel Results are good.

If you are doing Mechanical Engineering, just make sure you take Science Stream in A Level. You can think about which Uni you want to go later if you have not decided.

Hope it helps. Have fun smile.gif

If you are looking for an affordable tourism certificate level/diploma, I can recommend you to study at Optima International College. The diploma here would not cost you more than 20 k for two and a half year study. Optima International especially cater for students from low/middle-income families which explains its low fees and valuable add-ons. We specializes in three main components which is Travel, Tourism & Hospitality instead of concentrating in only one component. This is to give our students an edge when they step into the working world.

The special thing about studying in Optima is that you don't have to worry about accommodation as hostel is provided FREE-OF-CHARGE for students. Upon finishing diploma, you can opt to continue degree at our partner universities in New Zealand, USA, Canada, China or any universities in Malaysia as we are a fully accredited institution. For more info, you can simply call for Farah at 03-80767041 or email to farah@optima.edu.my.

Hi, may I ask something about diploma courses. I applied in INTI College to do diploma in mass communication there, I know that I can get into the second year of degree once I'm done with my diploma course. My question is, is diploma course is recognized in other university as well ? For example : after doing diploma from INTI, can I apply in other university to start my degree course and in that university I can start from 2nd year as well ?

Hi I got question to ask, which route is more feasible?

Undergo a diploma course then come out to the real world for some working experience then only enroll in a degree course

or

Undergo Diploma and Degree one after another?

If you have decided which course to study, go straight to a Degree Course.

Diploma usually takes longer and about working experience, you can always opt to do internship during your long break or part time during college/ Uni.

Best of luck smile.gif

I'm planning to be a pharmacist but I know since I'm not from science stream, I can't take it so I'm planning to take CAL (Cambridge A-Levels) for science stream. However, some said I can't take CAL since I'm not from Science stream and that I should find another course TT A TT some said I can take it but I need to struggle later.... so actually, I can take it or not? I'm confused. I really want to go for pharmacist as I really like it. Help? thanks a lot QAQ

If you are sure about your course, you should do Pre-U.
With the Diploma, you would have to do a Dip. Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Dip. Engineering (Materials Science).

Since you are interested in Mechanical Engineering, these two diplomas aren't as relevant, hence the reason i suggest you do the Foundation in Science programme.
