Good day to all of you! smile.gif

Well, this is another incident that happened to two of my friends. A few months ago, I found an advertisement in our very own job enlistment forum here in Lowyat.net. They advertised vacancies for graphic designer and another position that I forgot. So, I took the phone number and passed it to my friends who went to call and after that went to interview.

Luckily they passed the interview and started work a day later as trainee with wages under rm 1k which i think not 'sesuai' with diploma holders. The boss said, they will get full payment which is rm1k ++ after a few months of training.

And for that period of time, they worked at the company, even on Saturday... without have chance to go 'balik kampung'. The company its actually a small company with not so many staffs... but that should no be a problem.

The problem is, when the probationary period is about to end, the boss started to get mad 'tak tentu pasal' every time a small incidents occurs. For example, the boss fired one of my friend just because he didn't showed up on Saturday. I found out later that they even asked my friends and other staff to stayback at the office at night to finished up the work.. until morning..

I thinking that the boss only wanted to cut cost by hiring people temporarily as trainee and then dumped them as the period as trainee is about to end.

I placed the story here because I felt responsible and guilty because the one who suggest the job to them was me....

i've gotten scammed before. Mind you , i couldn't figure out why i fell for that. I guess it was because it was a "Work from Home" and i was out of a job.

Was in Melbourne and answered an ad for Work From Home. They told me they needed me to help them send money to an Australian company they know , but need to send little bit to evade tax(some sort of BS , cant really remember what it was)

anyway they transfer AUD2k into my account. The next day , *bang* my whole bank account got locked. Went to the police , they told me it was money laundering scheme. Cost me 2-4 weeks before i could take out my money. Lucky i had 2 bank accounts and the one i used was my 2nd one.

So whenever i see another "Work from home" thingie that promises 2-3k per month , i immediately report to police.

I see some threads saying they are from so-and-so event company. Then they'll ask u to email them your resume, usually including photos.

I understand that some of these are genuine and it's their way of recruiting ppl. But isn't it a bit risky to give out details to some random fler on the internet? I mean, stuff like phone numbers, addresses, emails, photos...to a total stranger? When u don't even know if their company exists for sure?

Or do u feel it's ok?

if the company name is Cobra or is affiliated to it.. avoid them like the plague..
if they're looking for management trainee.. the same also applies..
also, event team/crew.. run, freakin run to the nearest exit..

oh ya, forgot.. also Forex Com. seeks personnel for expansion..

my story.. i've got a couple laa..
but sadly, i forgot the posts i applied for..
i have this 'ability' to block out things that piss me off..

STORY 1
Comp : Some Forex Comp in Megan Phileo Ave.

same like the others..
went there.. was interviewed.. bla bla bla..
the next day, got called.. u got the job.. so come tomorrow..
i came.. they showed me around and started the 'training'..
learnt a lil bit abt fibonacci.. bull n bear la.. stuff like that la..
the next day, the 'sermon' begins.. talked abt how we need 2 help the comp..
and how the staff that are already there are pulling their own resources..
and investing themselves.. they were like.. why don't u join us?
it's something like, the whole share is RM10k, so if one person come up with RM2k..
then another 4 come up with the same amount.. so share2..
so i said, no money lorr.. so how? they said, it's ok.. ur parents got rite?
i said, i'm supposed to support my parents now.. u ask me 2 ask them 4 money lorr?
they said, for 'starting' only..
i can only imagine what the end would be like bcos i went back that evening vowing never to return..

STORY 2
Comp : Regal (affiliated to Cobra) <- what else can u expect from snakes huh? how ironic..

i answered an ad in Jobstreet..
so i got an email, very profesionally done n all..
asking me to come interview at Megan Phileo Promenade or whatsthatplace laa..
so i went.. there were like 15 other ppl there, presumably waiting to be interviewed..
i filled up the forms and waited my turn.. and i was called for an interview with 4 other candidates..
one a 30 something abg.. the other 2 were pretty girls..
the interviewer's a very confident young guy.. early to mid 20s..
spoke abt the company's expanding.. mite even open branch in the Philippines..
who knows, one of you mite become the head there..
yadda yadda yadda he yacks on and on..
then interviewed us.. and at the end of that, asked us..
would u guys be free next week? the girls said, yes..
the abg n i said no.. so the interviewer asked when will u be free?
i asked why? is there a 2nd interview?
the interview went.. "ahah! that's what i was just going to talk abt.."
he said that to be shortlisted, all of us had to go for a 4 days observational test..
meaning, we have to go out to the 'field'.. sell stuff..
and after 4 days(3 days if u're THAT GOOD n lucky, woww, yippee!! tongue.gif mad.gif )..
u'll be called for the 2nd interview..
i was like WTF? r u serious?
he was like, yeah..
so i fired back, what abt the 4 days? r we ur staff or what?
he started saying, and this i had no problem remembering..
"well, technically, no....." i was like WTF?????!!!!
so that means, for 4 to 3 days, u basically get free labour..
cos there's no guarantee u'll get the job rite?
and even if u do get the job, is it worth it?
from the look of it, i don't think so..
and i cabut with the interviewer in mid sentence..

I don't know if someone already warned you guys about this company - Mega Access Resources.

This company has been advertising in The Star newspaper calling for people to fill in the data entry position. When you call up, they ask you to come for interview at their company located at 7th floor, Plaza Imbi.

There, you are asked to fill up a form, and wait for your turn to be interviewed. Heck, it's not even an interview. They call you in 2 by 2, and explain to you about the job.

You will be given an assignment per week. Each assignment is 100 - 200 long. and your pay is RM300 - RM400 per assignment. If you finish the assignment fast, you can hand it in and get your pay on the same day, and a new assignment will be given to you.

Sound good, eh. RM400 per week.

But you have to pay them RM145 for the application fee, processing fee, and many other fees and they make it sound like you are getting so many benefits from them.

So you go back home and wait for them to call you and tell you if you are the lucky one to be selected by them. Well yes, they will call you the next day and tell you "congratulations, you got the job among the many many people who applied."

Don't go for it.

They make you sign contracts and agreements and they give you receipt and everything. They make it sound so real and true. But the assignment they give you are all fake. They will tell you the client has some problems and they will get you a new client and they make you wait for months.

I was on my holiday break and I thought I could take the opportunity to burn my time and earn extra allowance. But when i hand in my resume, the lady (high rank in company who interviewed me) saw my college's name (Taylor's College) and asked "oooohhh, you nak jadi taylor ke?" She doesn't even know what Taylor's College is.

Lesson learnt.
Expensive lesson indeed.

Now to think of it I'm really stupid.

No company will make you pay them first. If they want to charge you, tell them to deduct it from your assignment pay then. At least you are assured that you will get the assignments.

Besides, if they are the middle person, the companies that they help to get data entry people will pay them, not the data entry person itself!

rm145 is too much.
the actual data entry job doesn't require you to pay at all. you key in data, they pay you. that's the deal.

they are still advertising on the newspapers now. so don't fall for it! and pass the word around!!
