Guys, brought Airasia flight to Guilim next year March for family trip, but dad fall down and broke his leg, currently after operation d, doctor say will be in wheelchair for sometimes.

So we think he is unfit for a tour especially china tour and wanna ask if Airasia provide cancellation for this situation ? or at least do they allow us to change name to other family members ?
*
Do you buy promo or normal fare? If promo, no cancellation allowed. If your dad does not board the plane, the ticket will be forfeited but you can claim back the airport tax. Nevertheless, you can change to a much later date but you need to pay for the expensive admin fee & also the different between the prevalent price and what you have paid.

As with 2012, AA did increase their baggage pricing... another risk.
*
Every year/few years also increase but wth teh small quantum, Might as well..pay closer to departure date incase of last min cancellation biggrin.gif

small risk rather than loss everything.. I kena twice b4 due to last min cancellation..max losses bcos already bought the meals & naggages..

How many days this trip?

Blue Mt is a must visit - either day trip or overnight.

Short trip.. Can;t take long leave.. 5D4N only. I think should be OK for Sydney hmm.gif

hi stimix,
since you got an experience getting a refund...
how about passenger service fee??airport fee??and fuel surcharge??
can we claim this also?? blush.gif

and is this the reason why ZERO FARE promo is more expensive than this 11 cent promo?? hmm.gif
[attachmentid=3176941]
on the left side..my booking on their FREE SEAT promo (KL-Phom Penh)
on the right side...my latest booking on this 11CENT promo (KL-Clark)
*
Any fee not related to airport tax is not claimable. Only airport tax claimable. Fuel surcharge and even the passenger fee (1str time heard this haha) and any meals, baggage - gone case

Possible to do Blue Mt. I was in Sydney 1 night and Blue Mt 1 night.
Flew to Gold Coast, then flew to Sydney on Jetstar.
AAX no direct flight to Sydney then.

Easy just take train from Central - 2 hr /1 way, stay 1 night and back to Sydney.
Pity if you don't go.  sad.gif

Sure blue Mountain for sure in my itineraries but probably day trip by driving.. most probably renting a car

best i can get is RM606.. okie, right >?

If below the promo price stated 'Lowest promo" means you ht jackpot at the lowest price dy.. If there is no such remark, meaning you hv yet to get the lowest..Anyway, due to the high fuel surcharge and sometime high airport tax in the other country, even the lowest promo also not cheap..

For eg.. I got the lowest promo to Sydney at RM47/way.. Both way also RM47. but after adding the fuel surcharge of RM240 (2 ways) and ridicolous Australian airport tax of RM350.. and LCCT int airport tax of RM132...The cost of the return ticket ~ RM820

But the seat only auto -allocated after we do web check-in and no way we can go back anymore haha. If no web check-in the seat will not be auto allocated right hmm.gif ..Well, I dun buy seats that's why I might be wrong.. I just let the system choose after web-check in. Most of the time got seperated..sometime all all 3 of us seperated far away...Lucky, most of the time after the plane took off, we exchange seats on friendly environment haha..

And on my way bck from Haneda to LCCT, even the japanese AA ground staff changed all of us into one row after seeing 3 of us seperated far away... I really kowtow to the Japanese work culture & attitude.. No way you can find such a friendly AA ground staff rclxms.gif

AAX maded a killing with Pick-A-Seat (RM35) and Hot Seat (RM110)... I don't see the rational why such high premium. Maybe to cover cost of the Airbus A330 purchase/maintenance.
*
That's why I dun choose any seats blush.gif just tukar sama suka or show sad face wth the ground staff hopping they will seated us in one row blush.gif biggrin.gif

Even I only buy 1 baggage of 15KG and nowadays carry 2 big backpack to replace 1 luggage.. easier to carry and walk around esp cities wth MRTs...The 2 full backpacks also will not exceed 12kg most of the time an once back, also ~ 14-15Kg nia.. just nice rclxms.gif

great advise.... next time i better do this....

wat kind of backpack to get? can reco?
is there different sizes for backpacks?

can only carry 7kg per person rite?
only thing is cannot carry liquid stuff if handcarry so still will need at least 1 check in baggage
*
No. You can even fit in 3 or 4 if the total backpack <15kg rclxms.gif ..The best backpack for sure the lightest material without any metal support (to reduce weight) and you can put even more things.. smile.gif

Hey guys,

I remembered i read somewhere that if we cancel our flghts, we could get some refunds back?

I booked a flight to penang on 6dec, at price of rm 151. Which include Insurance 18, Fuel surcharge 40, airport tax 15.

May i know How much could i got the refund? I read in airasia clause that there will be admin fee charged to process the refund.

And do i need to call airasia to cancel my flight before 6 dec?

Thank you guys smile.gif
*
No use.. You can only get refund of the airport tax.. i.e RM15 but after minusing the admin fee, I think negative dy biggrin.gif

I think last year I have read something about airasia restricted the hand carry luggage rules.

*girl's with Handbag can allow to hand carry another bag.
*laptop bag  is consider as one bag, therefore no extra luggage is allowed.

Problem now is I have a laptop bag. And I have a camera bag. Neither of these are cheap! There is no way I will check in any of these... I used to carry them onboard without problem. But not sure how strict are they now.

Family ask me to buy "dry meat" and hand carry them because afraid check-in will spoil the meat due to heat. I used to carry 2 bags + 1 Oi Lai Ye paper bag in to the plane.

CNY .. sure a lot of thing to carry.. anyone has experience with the new restriction? kindly share. Thanks! My flight tomorrow.
*should I say that my camera sling bag is actually my "girl's handbag"???? then they will allow already...  rclxub.gif
*
So long all combined bags not more than the limit imposed.. Best to put all items into one big carrying bags. My wife normally carried handbag where she put the Ipad and another carrying big bag wth all the stuff like cameras, snack, junk food, smuggler mineral waters & also big down jacket esp travel to winter countries

*
No matter how many ppl you combined into one booking, check-in is still individual. Instead of queing for check-in, nowadays ppl do web check-in by printing you own boarding pass and once reaching LCCT, just drop-in luggages (If any) and use the printed boarding passes for direct boarding

Google & found the 2011 news: http://www.airasia.com/kh/en/press-release...travelling.page rclxms.gif

And from my recent trip to Hangzhou, I web-check-in LCCT side but return trip there is no option to web check-in i.e 100% counter check-in - Yes confirmed no fee at all
