QUOTE(MGM @ Dec 8 2011, 08:31 AM)
Stay up late to fish for cheap tickets and instead get a nightmare.
I made a double booking and spending 4 hours after that trying to find info to get a refund and brought me to this thread.
From what I gather the most I can get refunded is the airport tax (what about the fuel surcharge?).
Any suggestion on the procedure to get the most refund? Go to their office(where?) or to call their expensive hotline?

I booked a KL-Melb return flight for my brother in Sept2011 at a promo of rm983. Then early this morning book similar tickets (same date same flight) at a promo of rm756. Only discovered when I checked the confirmation at my airasia account.

Fare price was rm290.
Fuel Surcharge - rm140.
Airport tax - rm 310.
Processing - rm 16.

Now feel groogy after a bad sleep of 3 hours. HELP!

I believe that you can actually claim back the full amount since you have booked for a ticket with the same name on the same dates.

Do call their call centre by today so you can get an answer on what the outcome is though.

If you have time to go to their office, why not? But maybe it's a safer bet to ask first before going there? If you can do it online or on the phone, then why wasting petrol & time to go to their office right? I think their main office is in LCCT.

Took your advice and call them at their premiumline 600859999. What a fantastics service eventhough tel charges is rm12.40. The CS guy actually ask for my telno and call me back after confirming with his manager to save my phone charges. His call to me was 20 min long (most of the time on hold while he submitted in a report to process for a full refund). Refund will be credited into my credit card account after 30 days.

Good news there. biggrin.gif Congrats!

I personally have always received good service from their premium line. But alot of the forummers complain that they did not get a good service though.

Any1 can answer me on this? Thx

If u are able to book means it's still available. Rooms which are fully booked usually do not appear when you want to book.

Same goes for other websites for booking of air tickets or hotel rooms.

My mum and her friends are go to India next week. They're flying with AirAsia. I already web checked-in for them. So, once at KL, they will need to check-in their luggage before going to the departure gate. Is the check-in counters are congregated near the McD only or there's another check-in counters somewhere near the OldTown? I usually fly domestically so I'm not very familiar with international check-in counter. Where does the international baggage drop off counter usually located at? I need to advise them accordingly because they are going on ttheir own and they're not familiar with all these.
*
Hi,

Not sure if India will be categorized at the AA or AAX check in baggage area though. If not mistaken it should be AA area (where domestic check in as well). There is an information counter there that they could ask if they are not sure.

The above was long time ago, since 7kg and 1 hand carry strictly enforced, more passengers use lite and soft cover carrying bags. Carrying standard cabin size hard shelve 20" case will take up 3 kg of your allowance and easy target of being eye-picked by AA staff manning the gate to weight your hand carry. Now plenty of overhead compartment space.
NO need to hurry hurry queue 20min at the gate then wait 20 min in the plane then get up again for me the board the plane to sit at the window seat. Hahaha.
*
Dun understand why they all like to board first. Like u say, wait n then get up and wait again. So mah fan.

I always board LAST - literally the LAST person to board. Who cares if I get to sit first? I dun see a point. Passengers who put their bags at other seat's compartment - usually i'll call the stewardess and they take the bag and put other place (far away one like u say). Since it's not fair to others that need that space coz they sit there.

I love sitting at the back of the plane though, less noise and less interference. In the front rows - my god...... no comment. This is regardless of any airline though. I always pick to sit behind. biggrin.gif

Haha you must be the one who compete with me to board last  biggrin.gif  A tip for those who want to boarding last, sit at the gate next to your boarding gate. brows.gif

Oh...! another advantage of boarding last, you can push adjust the hand carry of other passengers who boarded earlier in the overhead compartment further in and place your bag near the compartment door. brows.gif
Perhaps a better way to say is by boarding last, you can prevent your hand carry being push further in or stack on.

LOL yes i would haha.

Say, for the luggage weight-allowance(15/20/..kg) fee, must we settle both trips before departure, or for the return flight we can actually select/pay even when we are already overseas?
*
For return ticket, the leg out of origin country - if you have not checked in via web, you can still buy whatever you want (food, IFE (if available), luggage allowance). Not sure about the part where you are about to come back to country of origin though.

As mentioned before many times (even the post above also says it. Next time please go through everything before asking), if you have not checked in via web, you can still purchase the baggage, food etc via manage my booking.

I will be traveling to KK with a few friend but during booking, i entered a name wrong

From Nur hanisah , i accidentally written it as Nur Hamizah . Do you think Customs will be ok with it? sweat.gif
*
I think u can call up air asia's hotline to change the spelling of the name for free. Just say keyed in wrongly.

You can click or search for 'food menu' at AA's website.

It's definately different.

Just wanted to ask a question to those who travel frequently on AA from KUL to SIN.

Are the flights always on time? Not sure if i should risk 3 hrs in between landing to departing for another flight heading out to Europe since the price departing from SIN is so much cheaper (around RM550!!) than from KUL.

If 3hrs is risky coz AA may delay, then i guess i'll take a flight before that... but need to wait for 5hrs.... maybe can hang out in the city for abit.

Thanks!!

I fly about a half dozen return trips each year. Mostly on-time or short delay (15-ish minutes). Worst I've experienced is 1-hour delay.
*
Thanks for the info. I think AA is quite reliable these days! biggrin.gif
