try ANy of the following points:  tongue.gif
* Left click the wireless icon in the tray, select Properties, uncheck "Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity".
* Hello and welcome to the forums. Nice collage, I can certainly see how you may be confused, I was, Just looking at it. What does the network and sharing center have to say. Is your network there private or public, make sure it's set to private. Run the trouble shooter or try the new network setup wizard. Do you have a third party software product managing your wireless connection? Sometimes, actually quite often, Windows 7 likes to manage it and some problems can occur if you have another piece of software trying to do the job instead. If so you might try uninstalling it. As far as the homegroup issue is concerned you may, perhaps want to leave it and attempt to re-construct the homegroup and see if that helps at all
* http://windows7forums.com/windows-7-networ...-connected.html
* Since I didn't have too many changes with the system besides the automatic windows updates, I decided to restore my system. This did fix the problem. I think it may have been caused by the Atheros driver updates because this did start after windows updated.
*    Not trying to re-open a dead thread. However, I've been looking for the solution to this issue, but, all my previous searches came up with only users having this issue with Wireless Connections. This is the first one that I found that was an issue with a wired connection. And, for me at least, uninstalling/reinstalling my Atheros 10/100/1000 LAN driver did the trick. Just wanted to put this up here for posterity's sake. Maybe someone down the road, like myself, will come looking for a solution, and hopefully this thread will lead them down the proper path. I didn't think a System Restore would be necessary, so I just opened Device Manager, uninstalled the device, and did a scan for new PnP devices immeadiately. The device was instantly detected/installed, and all began immeadiately functioning properly. And, of note, I've been having this issue, probably since about June, did a Windows Update and pulled down a new driver. Really hasn't bugged me much, as I don't use this computer too much but to serve files. However, I've been consoled into it for the last 3 hours, and staring at the disconnected icon while accessing the machine via RDP just started aggrevating me.

*    Mine SOLVED!
    i tried soooo Many Thing from so many forums.
    but these steps Solved that Damn X on my internet connection, Also that yellow star that was appeared before it beside my Wireless connection..follow these simple steps:
    1-Uninstall all Network Connection in Device manager.(dont uninstall software)
    2-MOST Important point: Right Click on my computer--> Manage-->Local Users and groups-->Groups--> in right panel Double Click Users
    3- Remove all NT_AUTHORITY**** (something like that) from there
    4-Scan for hardware changes and let the Drivers install again

    hope this work for u to,if yes pray for me ;-)

*    Fixed mine by deleteing Incoming Connections in Network and Sharing Centre > Change Adapter Settings.

    Windows Vista to Windows 7 Upgrade.

*Hmm... a complete reinstall seems a bit premature at this point. Why not first try the following:

1. Clear all preferred wireless networks from your network configuration. Right click to manage, click wireless on the left, delete everything.
2. Ensure the network manager service is running.

A reboot may be required, but it was not in my case.

* Hello Mercmerc,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Answers Forum! Although performing a clean install on your system could be possible solution, there are other options to try first. Try booting into Safe Mode with Networking and see if the problem still persists.

If that does not work, you may want to try a Clean Boot to see if the issue is still present. For directions on running a Clean Boot, please click here.

Please let me know if this helps J

* Its ok, I have fixed the problem.

I believe I have replicated this issue and found a solution.

In my testing, this issue was caused when a Win XP SP2 machine established
an automatic connection to a wireless network secured with WPA-PSK and the
security was then removed from the wireless network. Each time that the Win
XP SP2 machine connected to the wireless network after the WPA-PSK security
had been removed the symptoms I described in my post above were experienced.
This happened across various vendors machines, various vendors wireless
adapters and both with and without the vendor's wireless utility installed.

To resolve this issue (assumes you are using Windows to manage your wireless
connections0:

1. Right click the windows wireless network in the system tray, click "View
Available Wireless Networks" and then click "Change Advanced Settings"
(bottom right corner of the Window).

2. Click the "Wireless Networks" tab and remove the wireless network from
the Preferred networks list and reboot the machine.

3. Re-connect to the wireless network.

After re-connecting the issue was resolved.

* LAN properties (Control Panel | Network Connections | Local Area Network
* Show icon in notification area when connected (deselected)
* Notify me when this connection has no connectivity (deselected)

* Go to Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the Device Manager is there a Red X over your Wireless Network Adapter? if so, right click it and Enable it. If a yellow mark appears go to your computer manufacturers support/download drivers site and type in your make and model # and download the Wireless Network Adapter for your model.

Added on February 10, 2012, 11:37 pmdo let us know if u solved it.. from which point? k.. smile.gif

gudeluck!

Nothing worked. Since I have windows 7 home premium couldn't do the first thing with removing nt_authority.
Did try removing/reinstalling the driver- no help there.

Tried booting in safe mode- wireless did not work at all.

Maybe if I reinstall the driver completely? Though i don't know how

Its too hot to comfortably use for typing/chatting. CPU and GPU temperatures are within the normal range.

Didn't you negotiate with the seller when you buy the laptop? I actually bought it at RM2780.
