htpkevin, it seems you are right...i played skyrim and oil rush and no usuall freezing which can only be solved by shutting down.
unfortunately or perhaps fortunately, now the crash is reduce to CTD. which is better, but perhaps its just because of the game, or high use of graphic, e.g : when i'm fighting a dragon in the middle of a blizzard.but else...seems a'ok.
which means, either a driver is really weighing the VGA or the power supply is not enough.
whats CTD ? lol i really dunno that. Well another thing i thought of is, coz by right GT555M default clock is around 575Mhz, so when we got our laptop its 675Mhz. So we can say its been OC-ed 100Mhz by Asus. And well in Overclocking no chips are the same, some can perform better than others. We probably can just say our chip are not as good as others lol.
Anyone tried play NFS RUN? My N55SF suffers lagness in the game with either graphic driver 285.62 or 290.53. The game seems not running smoothly even with low game setting or low resolution inside. GT555M should meet the game requirement and can run it smoothly, isn't it? All other games no problem so far. I dunno how much the FPS rate for the game yet. Btw, what's the software used to measure game FPS?
NFS the run i dunno why but the game fix the FPS at 30 no matter what setting u are at.
Just wanted to clarify some info..the 630 MHz, manage to make one of the most stable gaming performance so far.
at the exception of Oil Rush, which was made by a Benchmarking company, so i think the game was more of a benchmarking tools, than a game itself.
all credits goes to htpkevin
not really la xD. Well i guess so far we can just stick to 630Mhz, coz busy lately didn't have time to go and try out the optimum clock speed. So far so good, even dota also no problem ady now.
core clock 630, shader 1260, the core clock slider make it link together with shader, then when u drag core clock to 630 u will get shader 1260 also. Only in certain N45SF, not all. N55SF no problem at all
when is diablo 3 coming out lol, can't wait ady xD. But now first priority is ps vita. Waiting sg release then i will buy one xD Can't resist the temptation xD
Still looking for info on which cooler pad i shud use on my precious N55SF T_T... worried about the effect over long term like this...lolx
well u can't expect the temperature to stay the same forever. Coz the thermal paste will get harden and eventually the temperature will rise. Normally its best for laptop users to change the thermal paste once every half a year(best result), if not also change at least once a year xD
walau ur suggestion tedious process la. Strip off once a year? if clean fan ok la once a year but replace thermal paste annually? i wonder arctic mx4 8years claimed durability can be trusted or not
well its best to do that la lol. 'Best' ma xD. Now i also lazy to bother the temperature. As long as my laptop don sudddenly go 'poof' then its ok for me xD
anyone tried Syndicate game?? this game really heavy...my N55 had to use low settings to played.... the aspect ratio are 4:3....if 16:9 the game will not run smoothly....hard to aim...
what driver u using? coz i'm using mid-high setting and still getting framerate around 35. Somemore i have to downclock my gpu to 630mhz only due to some stupid n45SF problem. but one thing about the game its really hard to aim. Too sensitive i would say....
downclock to 630 zero hang n audio distortion? What's your downclock setting for memory clock?
core clock 630 and shader 1260. basically just lock them both together and drag the core clock. zero hang and not a single audio distortion+freeze combo since then
