Black and whites are the nicest for me. Very contrasting and it used to be common but then dunno why later all like to breed tri-colour.... Black and whites are nice for shows. Also can hide away dirt ahhahah.

Well, he could have lived longer coz I found out he got heart failure too late.... if I had found out earlier, he maybe can live up to 15 years.... but heart failure caught up. So best is when your shih tzus go to senior age around 6 years.... do a heart scan... ultrasound lah. I will be doing for Chelsea soon since her breed is prone to heart disorders but then when do ultrasound, need to shave the fur at the chest hahah....

Yah, he looks small.... mainly I think coz fur all short coz that pic I just finish cutting his hair.... but his weight is 5kg coz he lost weight during old age. In his younger days, he was 6kg+.... quite a standard weight.

Hun, ultrasound can detect heart failure? Is it because it can sense the heart beep or something?

Dr Prem did ultrasound on my Boxer Rexx before he died.... the ultra sound will show you the shadows of the heart, lungs and all the valves of the heart.... kinda interesting to see. You can see the shadows of those organs and how they move.... beating and all can see but you won't hear anything lah.

LOL!!! Besides food, I dunno wud else I spend on him per month . I never calculate too and if pocket got money, want to buy wud, then jz buy. But if pocket no money, then of coz kenot buy lar .. .

I saw in googles ... they have very very nice black and white shih tzu as well as brown and white. Tricolour is also quite nice but not my priority .. haahha. If possible, totally white shih tzu would be nice!!!

Hmmm.... I can't remember how much it cost.... coz my dad paid the bill. Anyway, check your breed guide.... if your dog is prone to heart disease, do it at age 2... It is not compulsory to do it. Get your vet to check the heart by listening to it.... if there are complications, then only do ultrasound.

Yah... heart failure the heart sound very weird.... instead of a beating and steady sound, heart failure sounds like the heart is pumping extra hard, irregular beats and if you place your ear to the chest, you can hear it.... normal beating is like tud tud tud but heart failure is tudswish swishtud tud swwish.... is damn weird....

does feeding heartguard prevent heartfailures or it oni prevent heartworms?

Yeah ...i oso dunno how to calculate it...Since sometime if my gf go pet shop will buy some treats for them also...Hmmm...But Syrian got consider to adopt the lost shih tzu ?

not sure ler. Dun want to adopt on impulsion. I sked later i kenot handle .. then 3 of us will suffer (Hepy, new dog, and me ). Wanna calculate my budget properly first ler .. My main concern is not Hepy coz he's very guai already except sometimes when he wanna revenge, then he will poo at door. Overall, he's a good boy . My main concern is $$$ . No need to rush and adopt fast fast now coz there're so many lost / abandoned shih tzus on street .. always got ppl rescue one.

She say there lots of response from lots of adopter after announce there a found lost shihtzu at her place ... Hmm...Maybe u can wait for the right time only adopt a shihtzu much more better

Yea .. but now is definitely not the right time. I'm having my holidays next saturday and I'm going back to my hometown. Hepy will be taken care of by my bf while i'm away. And when i return from my vacation, I'm having exams . So, getting a new dog now .. i dun think it's an appropriate time.

Syrian, i think keeping one dog or 2 dogs does not give much difference on the money, is only the work load will be doubled, thats the hard part actually.
I din calculate myself before, just to give u an idea lah. After u've finish all the jabs plus watever u wanna buy for the 1st, the only thing is food and treats, plus occasional vet bills if they r sick.
Let say u feed them with BW lamb & rice, 3.6kg pack is RM45.Feeding amount for dogs like shih tzu would be around 80-100g per day. So 3600/80 = 45, meaning u can feed 1 dog for 45 days. Can say that RM1 per day for food, so RM30 per month for food bill. Plus treats watever lah, RM20, so RM55 per dog per month. Just double it if u keep 2 small dogs. Its just RM110.
But the extra work is bathing, grooming, training, disciplining, cleaning...........this is the hard part lah.

wah grooming 1 month need til rm400? so luxury..
need 2 write down all those expenses 2 keep track wat i bought 4 them d..
