 Is it better to do cardio empty stomach or not?

Some people say to do cardio empty stomach so you can get to the fat layer faster. But some says that you should eat something before cardio so that it won't "burn" your muscles and it gives you more energy for cardio. Just want to hear your expert opinion.

I have breakfast, then start with weight training, and after my weights then I do my cardio, I found that I can actually run faster, probably because of adrenaline in my bloodstream biggrin.gif

oh i usually do cardio seperately on different days from weight training.

when i was cutting i did cardio on an empty stomach..woke up and straight away went and jogged..lost 7kg in a month..lol

i tried train fasted
after that cardio a while
HIIT
no prob
but progress wise cant say much
cz after few days of these fasted training i have lots of function
so eat quite dirty and no time to workout

yeap..put earphones in,put my cap on and start running..feels good actually..i started my jogs at 730am

Really? I've been on low-carb for 2 weeks, I can still complete an hour of combat and pump each back to back, still standing and kicking (literally).

i dont eat every morning before i go for HIIT..been like that for more than a month already..still alive and kicking..

i did research a while ago, and i heard that it is actually good that you dont eat before you go workout..else your cardio exercise will burn using the food you just ate instead of the stored fat..no idea how true is that, but it sure does make some sense to me though.

there have been conflicting studies here and there, if you feel u cant do cardio with no food, eat , wait 40 minutes, cardio, if you feel it's all right, cardio then eat.

There are so many things to consider and too many conflicting studies. The Krebs cycle, VO2 max, respiratory quotient, etc. Just do what gives you results. Personally for cardio I would do it fasted.

I think this scenario is like going into a cowboy bar and listen to all the drunker who advised this perfect gunslinger to draw his gun on the left hand and some said go for the right hand since the opponent draw on the right. Some will advised him to take a tequila shot for luck, one prostitute even gave the gun slinger her panty hose as good luck...

So , i think there's no right answer to me. If u really want to lose fat, the motto is "Just Do It!"

Don't f***ing lie to yourself and looking for niche answer. I think this is just a small margin to affect you as it's not what u could do in shortest time, it's the journey of your lifestyle.

A runner will said to you that you will hit the WALL if u lack carbo and you will not fully burn the fat. Some said that if you don't feed yourself with Carbo, you won't burn energy and FAT is burn from energy fuel. And researchers said doing Cardio is not going to change much in losing fat, it's your daily routine that you do that will burn fat longer and faster. ( mens health this month)

This are fine detail just like finding a needle in the haystack. If u really want to lose fat , take Lipo 6 and stop eating like a PIG!

kind of a hypocritical when you say dont listen to everyone's advice and then giving out some of your own dont you think? taking a fat burner wont help unless you work out.
