Wing Nut,
Nice collection you have there. May I know what brand are they, esp. those 1/72 F15, F14 and Russian MIG and where did you buy it.

jdk, all witty wings. mostly from ebay seller modelarena. so far dealing with this seller has been very positive. don't have to wait too long for your jets to land and they do have a reasonable selection of jets. do let me know if you do get the rmaf or any other mig29s. for some strange reason, i find from actual pics of the model jets that the nose cones do not seem to replicate the actual droopy nose of the migs... and seem to be linear like the american jets. mebbe it's just me but shouldn't the nose cone antennas be pointed slightly downwards rather than straight ahead? rolleyes.gif

wiki lists 32 (as per the list). i think all retired already...

"the plane was permanently retired in 1998. the air force quickly disposed of its SR-71s, leaving nasa with the two last airworthy blackbirds until 1999. all other blackbirds have been moved to museums except for the two SR-71s and a few D-21 drones retained by the nasa dryden flight research center." - wikipedia

if you saw comrade blu3hamm3r's collection, the trainers are the ones with nasa... 61-7956 (17956) and 61-7980 (831).

my very first century wings received yesterday. awesome details but not without some niggling issues. not sure whether those issues are model specific or cw's recent poor qc. definitely disappointing for a model that costs this much. will include more on those issues later.

note 2? sharp indeed!

back to topic... my cw grim reapers had the following issues:

1. loose canopy (turns out cw didn't glue the windshield down properly);
2. no green hue on windshield;
3. tight wings (cannot fully sweep backwards);
4. loose fitting missiles (but that seems to be a problem with all diecast models... with the exception of my ww's f15s).

but like i said... detailing is awesome. just that for that price, i would've expected better. oh well... now i know.

first impression: far simpler assembly than witty wings, but they don't make f/a-18e/f super hornets (or f-14 tomcats, for that matter). personally, i much prefer witty wings detailing, although the assembly for the f/a-18s can be a bit of a pain with the miniscule parts. i tend to agree with the gurus in terms of ranking... 1. century wings; 2. witty wings; 3. hobby master (they do seem relatively lighter too! ). thinking of getting a forces of valor model to see how it stacks up against the likes of cw, ww and hm...
