You need to define the term " Gaming Keyboard"
Imo, any mechanical keyboard is more than good enough with normal blink blink membrane keyboards tongue.gif

blue switch or brown switch?

Any mechanical keyboard can be your first mechanical keyboard. But if you say about Back lid keyboard, its between Razer and Ducky 9008S. Then i would suggest you to go after Ducky Shining

there's no such thing as best mechanical gaming keyboard, please allow yourself to try the sample at lowyat. and see which type of the switch suits you the most.

It's all depends on your personal preferences, some may find it worth, while others find it not worth. but please make research before making purchase, after all, it is your hard earn money. so don't rush it.

Any mechanical keyboard can be your first, its all about which kind of switches that suit you most, since you lay down to 2 selection between blue and brown, both more or less are same, just that brown is tactile non clicky.

While blue is tactile and clicky, which will produce a lot of sexy moaning.. i mean produce lots of clicky sounds.
*
I sort of hated blue, next batch won't have blue, since got a few of them didn't pass my own QC, and being schedule to sent back.

Since blue has more moving parts, and QC checking them myself is crucial, most problem are with the clicky sound, i have to press 1 per 1 key to make sure they are clicky before sending out.(problem is time consuming, because each key has to press multiple times for confirming)

Clear switch are for those that loves tactile feedback, if you guys keep spying on Leopold.co.kr korea website, you can see why only korea has them, because korean loves stuff that are 55g above with tactile feedback.(sort of like black with tactile)

But if anyone that are interested in korean FC200R Clear switch with cheap price, you guys can ask kaiserreich on how to get them. brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

Guys, i have a question. I plan to get Filco's Majestouch 2 blue switch real soon but the question is, does the clicky sound on Filco's sounded as crisp as the 1 sounded on Das Keyboard?
Checked on youtube but there's too many reference to the extend it confuses me, some sounded like the browns *prehaps is their mic or positioning*.

Not sure bout it but isn't FILCO = QUALITY ASSURED? hmm.gif

For me, it isn't the crispiness of sound that matter, it is the consistency of sound that matter more... sweat.gif
*
yeah i agree with you on the consistency, im not sure is it just me or my ducky brown keyboard. sometimes i feel the "crisp-ness" as im typing on the "alphabet" keys, sometimes i dont. but i always feel the crispness on the space bar.

For ducky keyboards, the switch used on the space bar is always different, plus if you compare ducky keyboard to Filco, the feel is different. Why? it's differ from the material used on PCB, the plate and also the stabilizer.
Some people find Filco's metal spring stabilizer is better, but some prefer cherry stabilizer.

These factors lead to the different in typing feel

Your sometimes mean times or different keys? As mentioned by CycloneChuah, Cherry Blue may be the most "fragile" and problematic switch. The mechanism of it can hardly be controlled to be consistent. Thus, some switch may be having different or even no sound, LOL.

Razer BW's blue switch sucks to the core in consistency and QC. Some switch tick some switch don't. Even the pressing feel also different.

Hope FILCO's QC included switch checking. sweat.gif

well if it Filco's maybe i feel more reassuring, since the Majestouch 2 has a new PCB or something liek that?..make it more long lasting biggrin.gif
but the question still lies on the crispines of Filco VS Das..

New PCB board does not mean long lasting anyway, and does not have anything to do with a switch.

If you plan to buy Cherry Blue switch, i would recommend you to visit their shop, tell them you're interested in Cherry MX Blue and ask if you could open one box and test them.

Test all the key to make sure their Clicky is consistence, if it's perfect, take it, if not. don't buy it. simple as that, well doing that may be pain in the ass, but better safe than sorry. am i right? hmm.gif

Guys, comparing clears with browns, which one is more tactile?
from what i learnt, browns actuation force = 45g, clears = 55g, meaning clears is stiffer, but the "bump" on clears is more prominent than the one in browns, meaning clears > browns in tactility? hmm.gif hmm.gif

yep, last time i got some from AG thanks to storm88 for his "tumpang".
clear spring is stiffer than brown spring, and by comparing the stem of both switch (left it at hostel, so no photos sorry) u can notice than the bump on clears stem > bump on brown stem
I've tried alot of combination like blue stem on black spring, brown stem on black spring, clear stem on brown spring (this 1 sucks if u ask me), etc.

wonder if there's anything stiff than black but is linear?

These are DAS 3 IIRC. Lookup on USB dropout issue on DAS 3.
If you don't mind that, or if you want to mod a new controller into it if the controller koyak, then be my guest.
These are really cheap for a Costar made keyboard

Majestouch 2 Blue Switches are less crispy than DAS Keyboard with Blues.
Reason lies in the PCB thickness. The thicker PCB dampens the sound.
Also, adding thick Cherry Double Shot would further dampen the sound.

I tried the DAS, and based on memory, they are indeed crispy.
Other sources that mentions dampening are from Chinese forums. Not sure what the koreans think.
A lot of chinese sources also claimed that DAS with Blues are the best blues switch in sound, feel and quality (DAS are costar made)

Self-proclaimed #1 said there's no difference, and he owns the Majestouch 1 and 2 TKL. versions.
Majestouch 1 and DAS should have the same PCB thickness and material.

If you like crispy switches, consider DUCKY with green ALPS.
Or if you want to try some clicky keyboards, the model M is really fun.

There is, but actuation force for that switch is >100g, you should develop RSI problems using keyboards with that switches.
Btw, what do you think about black with clear springs and clear with black springs?
