a) How to flash US ROM into this Device.

1. Download ODIN .
2. Download Samsung Driver -> http://hotfile.com/dl/133929348/9107244/SA...2300_0.zip.html
3. Install samsung driver and connect your phone and make sure that all the drivers installed correctly.
4. Download ICS ROM -> http://www.hotfile.com/dl/169458139/5cca4a...PB_XAR.zip.html
5. Extract tar file from the ROM(remember to extract it till tar.md5, dont go deep).
6. Put the phone into download mode
7. Start odin, then only connect the phone via USB. Now ID:COM box shud turn yellow. ->Image
8. Make sure that only two boxes are checked in odin - Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time.
9. Choose continue on the phone

b) How to root ICS.
1) (optional) Flashed ClockworkMod Recovery to the latest version v5.5.0.4 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1312218
2) Now restart in CWM, and while in CWM dont restart the device until you've performed all the 3 steps below:

hm~ currently my distributor didt carry 3G+wifi for it ( focus on laptop + tablet) ~ but i do believe other that got it is stock from distributor= focus on handphone~

tested this in Taipei last month, it's size is actually quite similar to the 10.1

if the price is similar to the 10.1 as well, i'd advice u to get the 10.1 just because it's a full size tablet, watching movies will be much nicer, it's not really that big when u hold it, and it's super light weight.

If u want a smaller tablet to carry easily, get the 7.7, the super AMOLED display will make everything look nicer.

If u can wait, don't buy any samsung tablets, wait for the Transformers 2. that will be fantastic!

i looking for home use tablet. i feel 10.1 abit heavy. so opt for 8.9.

since some forumer recomment me to wait. so i will see the asus t 2. but if can get wifi 8.9 perhaps wil consider again. the only concern about this tab is no sdcard.

price-value positioning between tablet & smartphone.

Had mine for 2 days.
Things I like..
A. Light.
B. ..... <-- reserve if I can find any
C. .... <-- reserve if I can find any

Things I don't like
A. Can't set to mass storage, to my Mac or windows. Unable to make kies work. So I bought USB connection kit... honeycomb issue I guess.
B. "Recent apps" toggle is a joke. Cannot delete the list? wTH... let my daughter play with the tab, the list became very long, very impossible for me to detect my recent apps that I want. Someone need to reconfigure this I guess.
C. Touch and drag icon experience is horrible. Maybe my fingger is too fast for the processor. The feeling on the old galaxy tab 7 is superbly better.
D. Cannot make folder on the desktop out of the box. Need third party apps.
E. Screen capture toggle.. handy, but don't really use it.
F. Market only works on landscape. Portrait? Cannot..

.... beginning not to like this tab. It present itself just like i-device by refusing to be connected to PC.

Still Googling how to:
A. Delete access desktop, currently have 5. Want to reduce it to 2 or 3.
B. Root
C. Install custom rom.

My dad just bought 1 from Hong Kong. 16gb 3G and Wifi. After conversion is RM1,700. He's been using for past 2 weeks. BUT he now regrets...

1) Like what earlier user mentioned, no Privacy. Up to 20 last surfed cannot disable.

2) Feel DISAPPOINTED when comparing with "Tab 7.7"'s" Dual Core processor, even lighter...

THE GOOD:

1) Today, he managed to setup Call and receive + Sms too... Will ask him how. I think using 3rd party software. He said need to buy "USD Credit". A 1 min Call to my house costs USD0.02.

2) Bluetooth, Wifi, Lightning fast surfing, Excellent graphics, SWYPE Typing (like SGS 2), Google maps and etc...

3) TONNES OF APPS In Android store BUT Good ones need to Pay

myb becoz many people think the price as no 1 priority compared to processor..tegra2 is still gud n not dat bad as long as it can do the job...7 inch is little to small...

FYI tegra 2 cant encode 1080p properly and even some 720p videos

I pre-ordered one unit from LYN seller devour (RM 16xx for 16gb). Hoping to get by the next 2 weeks. Bought screen protector and casing off ebay to "welcome" this baby.

Looking at using prepaid umobile for the 3g internet. In case coverage/speed is poor, can immediately stop and change telco.

both Tab 8.9 and 10.1 using Same Tegra 2 Platform..my tab 10.1 is sluggish n lagging also even on Stock Firmware with Root.

still not manage to get any case and sp. will look into it. currently the tablet still naked.

overall, i prefer the weight and price as the wifi version is among the cheapest tablet. i not required 3g as i not carry the tablet outside. only carry my i9001 will do.

the screen size also perfect for manga or comic. 7 is a bit smaller. will post some review later. but now still need to learn more first.

try ask directd about case..i manage to order one...for sp, try ask sherly star...

this tab got no call function..but have gsm radio for 3g, which is for internet only..if u want call function, go for 7+....

so sad, cannot got mine today...need to wait another week...

haha same here i cannot find one here in my hometown Kuching too - so today i grabbed the 7 plus instead and 7 plus is available almost everywhere - instead of RM1299 as per budget i have spent Rm1599 for the 7 plus - smaller screen, but got 3G wireless option (can call ka? i thought tis honeycomb cannot call?) and expandable memory

i think better have fix orientation rather than able to rotate...isnt dis tab have 6 axis angle...? but it all depends on which one u like most..

for sp, if u r asking sherly_star, her set is thin film brand, if u want to spent more, go for idefense pro, but meed to wait for 1-2 weeks, u can ask tan alliance..

Just read that 7+ have slight advantage because of the Exynos processor, need to research more. 8.9 seems like a good size...
