I notice the engine oil from my mech shop will decrease till almost min after 3k++ km driving...But when i top it up with the same engine oil i purchase from petrol station, the engine oil level can maintain even after 1k++ km driving...i wonder if my mech is using fake oil or the one i bought from petrol station is fake... price wise both are the same...

So recently I got myself a Proton Wira SE 1.5(A) '05. The engine is okay, and the car itself is still in good condition. But my speedometer isn't. Every time I left the car for few hours under the sun (go to class), the speedometer is not working when I drive afterwards. Until only a certain time, will it suddenly jump and show the current speed. Thinking it was the meter cable which is the problem, I had it changed yesterday. But the problem happens again today. What is actually wrong?

my wira every morning when cold start, changing from 2nd gear to 3rd will take a long time..the car will be like without any gear for few seconds..and the RPM will go high since the car is in free gear.
i went to the shop and flush the gear box for once last year for the same problem. and the problem solved.
but now it return back again.
now the mechanic told me need to change gear box and all in will cost me rm1.8k. he said the gear box is used and import from japan.
is there any other solution other than changing a gear box?
my car is 1997 auto 1.5GL.

I thought both are almost the same 1.5L just that 4g91 is DOHC.. rite? And if not mistaken we can choose what gb we wanna use.. but 1.5L can use 1.6 or 1.8 gb however 1.8 cannot use 1.5 or 1.6 due to wat reason i forgotten.. correct me if i'm wrong as i'm not really sure oso lol

the last time i changed the spark plug for my 2001 wira, 1.5 auto my mechanic said got carbon. he said that's not a healthy sign..

any sifus here can give some input what he meant? i didnt really ask in detail because at that time I just bought it from my relative.

Guys, i notice my wira 1.3M throttle response and acceleration is better during the night time. Does installing CAI will help in improving throttle response and acceleration during daytime?

My brother's wira 1.6 auto got problem.. i quote "everytime" when in stationary and go to  D gear not engage.. needs change to n,  then D again rev a bit higher then it can run.. (sometimes it took 3 4 times gear change back and forth) until the car behind honking like crazy.. also got problem when stationary on steep hill.. On D the car will rollback.but when the cars start moving to next gear all functioning as it should.
recently he changed gearbox and the warranty had expired already then this problem came. checked the  gear oil still red.. not burned smell...  So i did some googling, reading here and there and come to a conclusion that this might not be the gearbox problem.. but a problem of the "Torque Converter". or maybe i'm wrong?

I saw at mudah, recondition torque converter is around rm300.. so how much will it cost for the installation.. anybody know??

Its the same thing with brake oil right? I've just got it changed three weeks ago.
When the check engine light comes on, that is when the jerking comes on as well. Either it jerks or the throttle just simply went ineffective. Step on the gas pedal, but no respond. Any similar problems like this you've encountered/heard before dude?

thank your for your reply... last time gearbox damage.. when driving gear D, 2, L.. got crackling sound like the gear pecah.. then the car stuck  then smoke come out from the engine bay..
u think how much for a brand new gearbox from proton..?? 5k?

for 4g92 what type of mitsubishi gearbox can fit ???

ya loh got smoke wor lol.. dunno leh thats my father talking.. not me.. waste money buy new gearbox.. but the cars is here in JB now.. so need to find in Jb area... anybody know where got cheap2 good2 shop for gearbox?
