I took lots of photo with my N8 and I can see the photos in the N8's photo gallery. But some of these photos are not shown when viewed using Desktop computer Window Explorer, hence unable to be transferred to Desktop computer. Any idea? Thanks

Are using pc suite or mass storage mode?
*
Hook up to PC using Bluetooth. And using Window's default window explorer to view, copy, select and paste to PC. But there are lots of photos that can't be seen on the window explorer

I suspect, these photo's are at different location. use the phone to get the photo details, and then search using windows explorer for the file.
*
But why would the N8 change the location of the photos just at it's own fancy? Doesn't it keep to a proper filing system like Mass memory/Images/Camera/...then with automatically generated folder going by dates like 201108, 201109,201110 etc.

This is getting to be a pain in the neck.

it won't... those capture photos only have 1 FOLDER to save into but with Drive option...

either

E:\Images\Camera\

or

F:\Images\Camera\

so as long as you capture using the default camera apps these location are permanent...  nod.gif

I have used Window Explorer to search high and low and couldn't find them. But they do show up in the N8 default photo viewer but the photo viewer's does not show where they are being stored.

Have you checked the SD card ?
*
Yes, I have checked the SD card. There are so many photos that there is no way it could fit into the phone memory so no point check that.

if you are using belle its not in Images its in a folder call DCIM . It does have proper filling except if you change it. Another way you can try is set your phone as mass storage and use your windows search to find your filename.

I can connect my N8(Anna) to my PC using Bluetooth. Using PC's Window Explorer, I can see the N8. Click on the N8 and it shows:
1. Mass Memory
2. Memory Card
3. Phone Memory

Click on Mass Memory/Images/Camera/201110 and I can see a list of photos but many are missing. Those missing photos can however, be seen using the N8's default photo viewer so it's not really missing.

So my question is, where are those missing photos stored in the N8?

So far, the only way for me to transfer those 'missing photos"to my own PC is to view it using the default photo viewer and then send it by email to my own email address. Not exactly an efficient way of transferring so many photos.

Is F-Secure the same as Mobile Security? I wanted to uninstall F-Secure because I find it degrade phone's performance so I emailed Nokia and they refuse/can't answer me that question.

Although I don't really like this.. but Nokia's future is now relying on microsoft;
next year would be releasing Apollo OS which supports dualcore, guess that they still able to sustain a bit in the competition :/

but oh please.. i want a true N8 successor >.>
*
What is there to like or dislike? I own no shares in Nokia nor know anybody working in Nokia so I have absolutely no emotional attachment to Nokia. As long as the phone fulfill my needs at the price I wanted, it does not bother me whether her future is with Microsoft or Macrohard.

Opps please don't misunderstood =x
What I meant was.. Nokia would really need to do well now ever since they announced to kill off their own platform
If they failed to appeal the market again this time, it's really really chaotic for Nokia to gain back market share anymore..

Urgh my English is really really bad, I really scare to interpret my opinion wrongly now -.-

One man's meat is another poison. Nokia in trouble means I can get my N8 dirt cheap. Where else can you find a great camera with free GPS everything for RM1000 brand new?

Maps 3.08 is now available for download for the N8 for those who dare to try anything new. For me, I would adopt a wait & see.

Downloaded it, have a quick use of it.

Now Ovi Maps split into 4 apps : Map Loader (map in your Maps), Guides (never use this o.o), Weather, and Drive.

Im liking it, Drive to home (or destination at favorite) quicker to access.

make sure you put Map apps at your homescreen, Map app widget is shorcuts of Map, Drive, Check in and Guides.

Homescreen (I changed the default Maps to Notes biggrin.gif)

and I actually feels that Maps load a little faster than before

I use "Walk" navigation often. Both using street or in a straight line. In fact, straight line is even more important to me so how does it work on 3.8?

I hesitate to install 3.8 because it only have "Drive", no "Walk".

What if it's 13Megapixel but small sensor & lousy lens? Until we seen the rest of the hardware, hard to tell yet.

13O MB after flashing it. After restoring all the backups, necessary applications, there's still 1O1.6 MB left for meĀ  icon_rolleyes.gif

That's an very impressive figure. I have to deleted off those inbuilt useless stuff like F-Secure, TVs apps etc to get that figure on the Anna.

Hope they will release the official Belle soon.

You using Version 3.08? Got any bugs? Newer ones often got bugs and that's why I am holding back and still using the 3.06.

Nokia maps and nokia maps suite are different. maps suite is optional (fun to try  tongue.gif), not that useful for me at the moment, so i deleted it and stick with nokia maps.
they're in beta labs, so anything could happen to either of them.
*
You mean, when you updated to the new Maps, you get 10 separate icon. But you can uninstall those you don't want?
