Actually, as a matter of fact, Vidic + Ferdinand partnership really was gone. They have hardly played together this season. Carrick also missed a lot of matches. Which explains the leaky defence.

Ppl comparing ddg n linde total amount of saves not really fair la.. Ddg play in bigger games, so of coz we up against better players who will shoot more often/ get the chance to shoot more often.. Linde less saves does not mean he won't do as well if he played in the bigger games. No?

61 saves 20 conceded means 25% of total on target shots go in.
13 saves 1 condeded means 7% of total on target shots go in.

But of coz this oso not fair to compare, coz linde wasn't up against bigger opponents who will have better shooting accuracy.

Just my 2 cents.

that's what i wanted to point out...facing more shot in the face meaning error is more likely to happen (even machine will breakdown if overloaded), let alone he's just 21 years old and also meaning that he's not getting enough protection from the defense....unless those who think that he's crap coz they expect he will be mistake-free from day 1, then its their own problem

goalkeeper is a tricky position to play with, its not like other position where you can be deployed at other position to get more experience, GK has only, and only 1 spot on the field, and the pressure on their shoulder is also ridiculously high, coz 1 mistake, and its enough to cost the team a game, unlike other position where striker can get away with missing good chances(why almost no one mention about Rooney's missed, or even Smalling's blunder for the second goal is a good example)

what's more important is how he reacted after the mistakes, imo he's reacted good enough (1 great save from the fk <-- i dunno y NO ONE credited him for this; and mistakes free for the whole match)

For me dont just blame certain party on the lost. This is a team and all players in every position need to work together. GK making mistakes, defence not provide enough protection, midfield lack of creativity and strikers missing lots of chances are what can i see recently. Keep the consistency and reduce our mistakes is one of the key way to win.

yeah..nonsense..but the real problem is our forwards seem lost touch to score goal...even how many ddg or linde make saves,if our forwards cant score..we will still not gonna win...

exactly. been reading the posts for the past 2 days. why are ppl bashing the keeper only? rooney missed a fair amount of chances and so did some of the others.

1st goal i think DDG just reacted and tried to clear it but the ball didn't go far enough. 2nd goal i really don't see what else he could've done. Way to close to him. Defenders were at fault there. Probably tired after attacking from 9 minutes onwards. And frustrated that they couldn't convert their chances.

because if that shot didn't went in, the game is still 0-0 and we will qualify if it ended as a draw...so that's why i say GK has the most pressure among all starting members

but people forget, defending isn't the responsibility of the GK alone, its the responsibility of the WHOLE team

how many time had DDG/Lindegaard saved the team arses due to stupid mistakes from onfield players? they can't made the save ALL the time you see, you get enough shots on goal, some will inevitably goes in

no fan is happy with the elimination...but at least be grateful we are still in europe as well as fighting for the league...so we are highly likely to qualify for CL again next season

If that do happen, I do hope we won't become deluded

one thing worth mentioning is the amount of $$ we will miss out from this elimination...uefa $ is one and another is tv rights

not good especially when the club is still in deep debt
