- Litening Rom
- Sensation Rom
- Check Rom

These are among the best; even SensationRom is long-due for update but it is the best one with themes so far..

Sensation has been updated to ki3 already smile.gif

laptopguy!!! help~ seems like im having problem with my super user!!!

TB saids my phone not rooted, while i just flash into checkrom, full wipe!
using root check, seems like my su binary file location is not proper, even do su update also will failed.
*
Try reflashing siyahkernel,if still no root,go to the siyahkernel page,i know theres a file that roots the device if it doesnt get rooted.
Edit:go to flashing guide part of the siyah page, the last sentence of the flashing guide paragraph, theres a link there, download the file n flash it in cwm

would it void official Samsung warranty if we flash it to custom ROM?

I thought it won't be, but the retail assistant in Samsung shop told me otherwise
*
Yes,will void warranty. Just flash back stock rom then can send back. most sc dont really care if rooted or flashed custom rom or not. but if its strict sc,they can find excuse to not service it

yea, just did it, full wipe, without installing siyah 2.0, everything seems fine... but with kernel 2.0, turn on speed was like right after the samsung SII animation, while this one wait for like 20sec. :S

so can i install the siyah 2.0 now? sad.gif
*
So have u reflashed siyah? Or u just flashed the root file only?

guys, finally got the battery performance result.

mine got 24% juice left after 2 days and 5 hour of battery use. refer to the screen shots attached.

for me, it doesn't matter what battery capacity you use. your usage is the main factor that will decide your battery juice lasting power.

so now, depends on you guys if it worth it to buy the 2000mAH extended battery kit from Samsung at RM139/set.
*
Ur battery damn prl,can recharge itself brows.gif i usually get abt 1 days use, maybe extra few hrs,as im quite heavy user, browse internet qute heavily on phone.

yeah, i use data connection intermittently. like i said before, battery longevity depends on our usage. this review is just a basic guide lines in buying the 2000mAh battery.

if the 3500mAH mugen battery is easily available in lowyat, i'll go and buy it instead of 2000mAH.

higher capacity longer battery life..
*
i checked mine, my display time is almost as same as yours, only difference by 10-20mins, my batt now left 28% brows.gif the power of underclocking

*
nope, using 1650mah battery. uv scripts make my phone reboot, i prefer controlling uv myself biggrin.gif

I agree with you, my single core 1ghz HD2 which is not even suppose to run android can run almost all apps/games in the market smoothly.

Just that I see no point in UC as the governor/kernel we use knows how to control the cpu. If you run 100 - 1200 mhz and look at cpuspy, 1.2 ghz usage is totally insignificant compared to 800mhz or 500mhz. So my point is there is no purpose in UC as we are not fully using 1.2ghz all the time. It won't reduce heat much as it does not stick to 1.2ghz.
*
Agree, gingerbread cant fully optimise dual core yet,so now i uc my cpu till android really knows how to take advantge of dual core, read a website saying that ics not optimized for exynos+mali, samsung needa work on optimising ics on galaxy s2 themselves. i think it was androidcentral or engadget. i underclock as i feel i dont need that extra 0.2 ghz, yet brows.gif

Currently i underclock to 1ghz with ondemand governor, and 40% below underclock to 800mhz.
Also, asphalt 6 hd runs fine on 800mhz,as i think its more heavy on gpu.but have a insy bitsy choppiness that only noticeable when looking for it.

Not sure if its cause i uc and uv,but battery life has been pretty impressive on checkrom thumbup.gif maybe cause im using lightning black theme too

Try brazilian wax. It is the best governor in terms of smoothness.  tongue.gif
But i think will not go well with your batt philosophy

hehe, i dont think i should go for that governor, as im a battery freak. will just bear with choppiness till 2.1 final version is released

QUOTE http://androidadvices.com/samsung-galaxy-s...xwki8-firmware/
just in case if you have rooted the phone then after applying the update the phone will be losing the root access. We will soon come out with the procedure on how you can root Galaxy S2 GT I9100 on XXKI8 Gingerbread 2.3.5 firmware, so stay tuned to AndroidAdvices.com.

it was dated 8 oct 11 so i tot quite recent. so if 2.3.5. can root, just root it like the normal procedure rooting other GB version right?
thanks antt, i really needd that confirmation cuz most ppl say they install wat rom wat rom ON GB 2.3.4 so i worry got requirement of wat GB version. so tonight i will go to custom roms for first time hehe

this website got recommend wat custom roms for what purpose
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/13/top-and...sung-galaxy-s2/

briefly it said the ...
touch X -Touch X is another custom ROM that optimized for Samsung Galaxy S II to achieve better performance and battery life. Touch X 3.2 SP1 that I tested is based on XXKG5 which is Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. It is fully odexed for top performance.

""Download Touch X v3.2 CWM ROM here and SP1 here. "" how to install this SP1 after flash touch x? lol
batista -Love ‘flying’ transition animation? Then you should try Batista70 ROM for Samsung Galaxy S II
watever he meant about  'flying' transition animation lol

im interested in exynos extreme too but seem extra step there "Install Exynos v3.5 Base System first. Let it boot into Android. Then install Exynos v5."

i wan beter perf so likely il go for touch x, i think fully odexed is better for me as i less appeal to customization but more perf.
*
That jayceooi link is old already,i recommend checkrom revolution, very good rom, many users here using it including myself, one of the best roms for galaxy s2 thumbup.gif
