It SHOULD. No idea if Samsung will ACTUALLY release an ICS build for it, but if the Nexus One can run it, the SGS2 blardy well can.

SGS3 will SURE have a HD reso, full RGB stripe screen though, if you fancy that. It'll be a long wait for it to  OFFICIALLY hit Malaysia though (even the SGS2 took it's time), so the question should really be: do you need a phone NOW?

And unless Sammy found a way to really optimise SAMOLED+ efficiency, the HD version will suck battery like a vampire while in use.

I like the last part of ur reply haha! Makes me wonder if galaxy nexus will have good battery life or nor hmm.gif

you forgot one thing, SGS2 is a revolutionary phone. People use it everywhere. Samsung would be very stupid not to update it, cuz people would skip SGS3 if seeing how their flagship phone not updated.

I used to use Desire(a revolutionary single core phone), and HTC said no GB for them cuz sense 3.0 is too big. but in the end, its GB with a compressed sense baked into them. you know, many people are behind it, protesting, complaining.
*
One thing i like about HTC is that it actually listens to the community, like when they lock the bootloader, everyone protest, then HTC decide to unlock it. wish more companies could be like htc *ahem ahem* epal *ahem ahem*

anyways, i dont think need to worry abt ics, as im sure the folks at xda are working to make custom roms for sgs2 with ICS biggrin.gif

Haha. I also scare before I flash my custom ROM because I don't have spare phone to use.
What I did was reading a lot of info in xda forum till I confidence enough to flash it. Also thanks to antt00 who guided me to do it.
*
i remember i was just like you last time, then i finally found the courage to flash my first ever rom, which is litening rom. after that, i found out flashing custom roms is pretty easy, dont worry, you'll get it in no time thumbup.gif antt00 also helped me alot with my never ending questions so thank you notworthy.gif

Seriously have you installed betterbatterystats. These high drains can be solved once we pinpoint the source (which i guess is the facebook app).

dont think so. they will release quad core so that SGSIII can support next generation after ICS and Jellybean (i heard jellybean oni support that funny looking galaxy phone  shocking.gif )

sincerely hope that our battery technology can found a way to breakthrough the bottleneck they are facing now. we want slim+power!!!!!!!!!!!  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
*
agree, why cant battery technology improve as fast as processors and gpus? cry.gif

2 yrs ago, smartphones could last a day with moderate usage. 2 yrs later, smartphones can still only last a day sad.gif

No only for the market app. Longshot, can you check if your keyboard language is set to English (US).

Edit: what is your market version?

Actually they got improve. 2 years age cpu are 500mhz with 2.8" screen. Now we have 4.3" screen and 1.2ghz dual core. Battery life still the same. My HD2 1250 battery is about the same size as the SGS2 1650.
*
i meant like things like screen, processor, gpu are all improving rapidly, but battery technology isnt sad.gif stuffing higher capacity batteries into phones is not a long term solution, something should be done

Yeah we should really get some nuclear powered batteries and throw away our chargers, leave data on 24/7, play asphalt 6 for 12 hrs straight and never have a need for spare batteries.  biggrin.gif

haha...my iphone fren said android boring, dont hav nice game n apps doh.gif  but to be honest, i rly hv no idea bout adroid as i m still using a cheapo phone...
*
I used to be an ex iphone 3gs user, then switched over to sgs2.

Advantages of android: TONS of customization options, can flash this and that and this and that... Homescreens look way nicer than ios, ios only icons, while android have WIDGETS plus icons thumbup.gif

Advantages of iOS: iOS has more games to ply with, one of the main reason why people buy iphone, as ppl see smartphones as devices to ply games, so app store has an advantage over android market. Apps in app store also feel more polished, menus look nicer on ios, gameplay is also smoother and graphics are more pretty compare to android.

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference. As im not really into games and im more of a techie person, so android suit me best. If your a person thats more into multimedia usage, then iphone would be a better choice. Android would be for those who like the freedom to customise their phones to their liking. Im still sorta of a neutral person, as each os has its own advantages, depends which one suits one best smile.gif

Who would have thought that this phone can be had for less than RM900:

Check out the youtube videos. It looks very smooth considering it is running on less than 700MHz...

HOLY SHET the latest batista rom with the ICS kernel is awesome!!! the grainy and bad light exposure in the stock rom is gone! my camera now is super awesome even at bad lighting!!!! that was my only complaint coming from iphone 4 and now imma super estatic
*
Is it because of the kernel or the rom? Does it fix serious fps drops when panning arnd while its focusing in while recording720p and 1080p vids?
