Just rooted my wife's 9100G with doomlord v2 method. Thanks to loon78a for his/her guide. First 2 attempts failed on me. After installing Kies I didn't reboot my lappy.. that's the culprit. So my succession was on 3rd attempt!
Anybody had tried HC-kTool to backup efs folder? Is the latest version (from market) compatible with G variant?
So after rooting should I flash MyGkernel? What the step to get rid of the yellow triangle thingy? I just want to theme the 9100G and stay with stock FW (until best custom rom available). Oh, btw I'm still on DZKI1. Hope my root will stay after update to latest... Thanks wink.gif

Nope, I'm still on DZKI1 = 2.3.5 smile.gif . After flashing MyGkernel then flashing with stock 2.3.5/DZKI1 kernel, the yellow triangle will be gone and the CWM will be remain + root?? This what make me confuse hmm.gif Please, confirm that I will still rooted and will have CWM after flashing stock DZKI1 kernel over MyGkernel AND even after upgrade to 2.3.6/DZKJ2! blink.gif

@yongyong0718, thanks for the reply. Some said (2-3 pages back) root will remain after upgrading to 2.3.6. But I won't take the risk as the i9100G is not mine... it's my wife's i9100G wink.gif...

@slade_clan, I assume you got black screen after the big GAMELOFT logo? Are you installing v1.02? You should find something like Modern_Combat_2_Black_Pegasus_HD_Samsung_Galaxy_S_GT-i9000_(Samsung_Appstore_18_August_2011)_v1.0.3_Xxxxxxxx_xxxxxx from the net. The size is 5.50MB. And you have to download the game data into your i9100G which is around 284MB. The folder of the game is GloftH085. Good luck.

You can flash MyGkernel to get CMW and install custom ROM (by juffo@XDA -first custom rom for G variant) from CMW recovery. If you care about the yellow triangle thingy at bootscreen then get yourself the USB jig (or you can DIY one) to get rid of it. The USB jig also can reset you flash counter. smile.gif
