Thanks for the link bro. This will help the chap with the problem.

But my experience, not necessary to repartition and go back to stock.
Just flash back the file that was intended to. FOr example....flash kernel....ODIN show fail -- red color... u pull the plug . press to restart the phone, this logo pc-phone comes out... follow my previous steps, can just try again to flash the same kernel.

Of course going back to stock also can. My first time I got hit, I tried re-partition and re-stock. So thanks for chipping in to help our friend here.
So many times soft brick, i hope i dont encounter hard brick.  Then its time for Galaxy Note. He he he,

A bit odd. I bought my phone Oct 8. I think it was on 2.3.4, because since then I got 2 firmware upgrade thru KIES, DZKI1( 2.3.5)  and DZKJ2 ( 2.3.6).

On my phone , i have done all kind of flash this , flash that, all the kung fu and karate of flashing. Everytime  I stick my USB jig, any yellow triangle if any disappear and the binary counter shows  this in download mode:

ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: GT--I9100G
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD : NO
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG_OFFICIAL.
ERASING DOWNLOAD INFORMATION SUCCEEDED.

Hmmmm... does it mean my phone have the old bootloader because everywhere i read people keep "warn" the new bootloader cannot erase binary counter, about the old *.sbl file and stuff.

I am just happy to use the USB jig. Cant leave home without it. biggrin.gif  rclxm9.gif  icon_rolleyes.gif  tongue.gif
*
haha, as i have never had any binary counter increase, so my usb jig just lay in the closet..lols
i am not very sure about the bootloader. but as i know, newer firmware usually come with new bootloader(sbl.bin).

but whatever, as long as u can use it..lols..

how come after 1 hour my batt drop 10%?wooo..

just flash my rom to superROM 1.1 and does it sucks my batt?

baseband : I9100GDZKJ2
Kernel : 2.6.35.7 root@ubuntu #11
build : superROM#v1.1

if i want to flash back to stock ROM..

i just flash it with this right?can use CWM?

DZKI1 original full firmware: http://www.multiupload.com/6L8BALT56F
*
stock firmware is not flashable under CWM, u need Odin.

for ur problem with battery, have u try clearing "cache" and "dalvik-cache" and repairing permissions in CWM?
because in my case, if i dont do these steps, usually i will end up with a battery hogging rom. Try it first

plus clear battery stats too in CWM. thought it will not help with battery calibration but it will reset the data of the battery

Removing the yellow triangle /!\
Getting rid of the yellow triangle in a few simple steps:

Flash this (or any other) custom kernel via Odin
Once your system is rooted run the Companion Tool ("HC-kTool")
Tap "Dump current kernel"
Tap "Reboot to Downloadmode"
When back in downloadmode, start Odin, connect the phone and flash any stock Samsung kernel
(this will remove the yellow triangle as the phone is now running on an official kernel again)
when the phone rebooted after the Odin flash start up the Companion Tool again
Tap "Flash kernel from /sdcard/zImage"
Tap "Reboot"

That's it.
You are now running the custom kernel (again) but without having the yellow triangle on boot -
also the custom bootlogo now works again (it doesn't when the triangle is shown).
Easy?

adding this into my pdf guide. thanks.

i flashed Superatmos kernal but my rom info shows kernal version *2.6.35.7 root@ubuntu #11* ..

is this normal/?
*
it is normal. to be more sure if u have the updated 1.2 kernel, check with any cpu app like setcpu/voltagecontrol/no-frills, u should find new governor like smartass.

where can i get DZKJ2 stock kernel?
*
by zImage, u can just extract it from the downloaded firmware.

if u want to flash it thru Odin or CWM, u need to tar that file.

but easier just to flash it using "ktool", u can just flash the zImage directly

Added on December 14, 2011, 8:57 am

ok..thx..b4 diz i just flash firmware..lol
*
from the extracted zImage, u can also make it a .tar file so that it can be used with Odin for example.

using izarc software, u can make an odin compatible tar file.

7zip is not working usually

Weird and strange stuff just happened. I tried to do the removal of the triangle and it takes such a long time to flash to the stock kernel. So disconnect the phone and it gave me the phone-to-pc screen (soft brick or something).
And there is no way that I can get into download mode again.

Then I just connect the phone again in the brick-mode to pc, fire up odin and load up the stock rom and it flash the rom successfully and reboot the phone.

Now, here is the weird thing, I was SuperRom 1.1 before I flashed the stock. After flashed and reboot, the phone still retain all settings and apps of the previous rom. NONE of the stock rom system apps were found after reboot, only the kernel were retained. Now I longer has root to the kernel.

Going back to 1st post to root, lol.
*
that is normal, u just need to reset factory settings and of course u need to root it back..just doomlord it...easy

gosh, did u ever read my pdf guide..

for rom flash, as u select the pit file, the re-partition will be ticked automatically. as the pit : partition info table

for kernel flash, no need for pit file, so by default re-partition is unticked.no need to tick.

for both situations, no need to tick re-partition, everything should be automatically ticked

Added on December 14, 2011, 11:35 am

your PDF guide is useful, thanks for sharing ~
*
of coz not the same

yellow triangle is encountered when u flash unsigned aka rooted kernel, this is like a warning because u are not running on stock kernel.

binary counter is the counter inside odin download mode, shows how many times have u flashed unsigned firmware or kernel

by the way, for now my phone is using superAtmos kernel, if i flash back to stock rom. my kernel is still remain superatmos right?

thus i don't need to flash back my kernel as i want to maintain my kernel and only to flash back to stock rom.
*
for getting back stock firmware, there are only two ways

1) using CWM backup/restore, only if you have made stock backup from the first time

2) using Odin, reflash back to stock firmware, the kernel will be reverted back to stock. So you need to root it back.

My current phone : running stock, rooted with doomlord, flash superatmos kernel using ktool

First try on the rooting with doomlord, failed.
A lot of errors when it tried to write the su apps. Will submit a screen capture if 2nd round fail again. On v3 first try.

Now on v2 and see, 10 minutes and still stuck at

what kind of failure, the important failure notice is before the edit part, but hopefully u have already read my guide.

the stuck at "waiting!" is because u didnt reboot it manually before, as the last script didnt success on rebooting the phone automatically, so it kind of hang. reboot first before re-run modified script, follow my pdf guide.

Time to odin flash root kernel.

Sorry bumping the answer

For the original question many posts ago, the stock from downloaded from page 1 includes the kernel. If u use Odin to flash ,obviously kernel also go back to stock .

You cannot simultaneously flash stock rom and rooted kernel at one go. Both are selected by the PDA button in Odin.

Do 2 step if u have no cwm or backed up rom.

Time for picture tutorial ? There are so many in YouTube .
*
stock firmware can only be flashed with odin as it is not CWM flashable.

u are doomed as if u read my guide properly, it is just easy matters, and doomlord method will never f*ckd up ur phone..never ever

Yup. Quite a few face this problem.Mine could not connect in kies mode.  My solution is uninstall kies  ,reboot ,reinstall latest kies from website, reboot, don't connect phone , open kies and dont run the update for Samsung apps in kies.chances are it will be corrupted. Then reboot .turn off internet to avoid finding driver from windows update. Connect phone.
Lot of mumbo jumbo? That's why I went back to stock. But seems not everyone face this problem. So I really don't know. Ha ha ha
