guys, anyone had any issue your modem cannot get into hspa+ signal? im having this problem....the modem connected already and can use internet and all. but the led on my modem only show blue (3g 384kbps) led....sometimes it takes a while then it will turn cyan (hspa+) all of a sudden! sometimes it wont change at all until i do reconnection.....

when it connected to 3g (blue led), the speed is very2 consistent at 384kbps..... anyone have any solution to this?  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Giv a brief history of your modem like

1) Model and make

2) FW version or have you flashed it recently or stock FW

3) Did you Supercharged it.

4) Did you used an extension cable.

5) etc, etc ...............

could be signal problem, if your RSSI via MDMA is below -70dBm, get a Patch Antenna. Blacktubi have very good Patch Antenna for sale

In your Opinion, which router which can support 3G USB Modem which is Value for Money and is DDWRT friendly (free licence DDWRT one la ) and is powerful enough ?

How do u come to the conclusion that 1043ND is underpower, Output = 2A ?

These are Router, it will boost your speed and stability and provides the best signal you can get at a low cost compared to other commercial routers.

By default our Modems dun get enough of Power (500mA shared) to draw in signal for consistency, hence we use Routers to stabilise the signal. But most Routers ( Consumer brand like Asus or TP Link ( except High End ones >rm400 ) lacked the omph. I believe with this Router, your connection can be very stable. biggrin.gif

what kind of router? Is there any router that not easy heat.....support 4g, can find on local store under rm 95........i love TL-MR3420 V2 but design look like tame router, is there any router that look like mr3420 V1 but support LTE?
*
I am using MR3420 V2, its cool in design and cool on usage, very good heat dispersal. rm85\

RB751G-2HnD, rm350

However, for more stable hardware get the above.

I am contemplating it now.

What telco you using?

If Maxis, call them to give you a Public IP, but the speed will be slower BUT stable

well, u can either look for Cable Y usb cable for your modem,

if without the panel antenna + on the move, speed will be confirm up down  notworthy.gif
*
Wat ever Y cable or Lightning port also come to "no use" , because if you use the PC/Laptop for some time, the whole damn mobo gets heated up and when there is too much heat on the mobo, the whole circuit will slow slow dei , meaning your system and USB connection/data transmission also slow slow dei........... icon_idea.gif

to over come this , dun use WiFi as WiFi also consume power, dun use USB plug-in as this also gets jammed up with less power as its being "eaten" by the mobo........connect via LAN cable from the Router , as LAN routes dun utilise power (CAT6e LAN Cable ~ faster transmission, proven with low ping ) ~ btw, also disable WiFi from the router as that the router dun have to power up the WiFi Chips and fully utilise the 1A of electricity to suck in the signal into the modem.

@Chuah

Have you used a CAT6e cable to benchmark before?

If not you should try, after that you would "hard sell" this cable like you have been doing to OpenWRT these past week again

yes i try,

almost as zero in different, price wise is huge different  sweat.gif

unless you are on gigabit lan port with 100Mbps ~ 1000Mbps speed in fibre,

otherwise it wont make any different in my situation ,

my wifi connection is also as fast as my Lan cable Cat5E too
*
That cable have could have some broken bits inside.

I tried a Cat5 ( supplied with the V2 and the ping averages at 100~120ms, whereas my Cat6e cable, longer at 2meters ping at abt 27~100ms, averages 45ms ~ current LIVE result , via Router only........

your area RSSI= 55~65

my area RSSI=93 and yet i can touch 23~29 ms, on a HW550 default FW, no OpenWRT, no Antenna , no fan , no stripping , no cooler pad ,

Imagine if i bring my HW550+Cat6E to your place, can i get <20ms ?

I was trying to drive home the point that a HW550 + CAT6e LAN cable on a RSSI of -93dBm can get a ping of between 23~29 , why can it go lower if the RSSI is 55~65 dBm ? All these is without OpenWRT, No Cooling Pad, No Fan blowing, No Modem and Router stripping, No cool mountain air , No Antenna.

You cant say NO, when you have not tested my setup in your area.

I am trying to say that HW550 can achieve it. You try what ever means with your MR3420 and show me a ping of 23~29 , then i say that MR3420 is much better icon_idea.gif

I even give you the handicap of you having a more superior RSSI compared to my jeeby RSSI of -93dBM compared to yours of -55dBm and a lousy speedtest of

user posted image

which you constantly getting >10Mbps too

That time the fault wasn't on the router but iPad. sleep.gif
Anyway, why do you want it?
It can't recognize supercharged E372 anymore.
*
Remember the first time when you bought the HW550 and tried to setup to match it with your MF622 ? icon_idea.gif

This Router if you match it with a MF680, dismantle the Antenna , disable WiFi can give you very low ping.

My Mr3420 V1 and V2 cannot match it at all on ping.

Moreover, i discover that without using WiFi, the router is not hot and does not requires a Fan to blow it.

I open up , as shown in my earlier posting, the inside was nicely spaced out, no cramped circuits, capacitor also good quality.

I even re-enabled back wifi without putting back the Antenna, it too work great.

Now the next step is to get a DDWRT flashed router and LAN out from HW550, you can have very good WiFi in your place.

I just missed the chance to buy a used Linksys DDWRT flashed router for only rm60 doh.gif doh.gif
