By the way, anyone notice that "top site" feature on web no longer worked properly after PR 1.1, after long time of usage, my top sites are still the top 5 stocked Nokia website, which is impossible.

I am doing quite well. Thank you. I can afford to buy original apps. So yeah, I think I did better and further than you. Being a cry baby for getting the stick on shamelessly asking for pirated app like you, won't get you any where far in life and that's a guarantee.

there's also bug within the FEED limit setting, where no matter u set it 100/200/500 the FEED screen will ALWAYS just keep the latest 100 history listing... sweat.gif

not to mention the AP/RSS/FB/Twitter will randomly STOP updating the feed HS, it mostly seem the N9 still facing the acc. login keepalive error as well as database overflow within these social feeds... shakehead.gif
*
I've long lived with the fact that Event homescreen is badly optimized, can't even set the interval of update time for twitter and FB feed, they are updated periodically but independent to the duration for feeds found in the settings

Anyone know how to change the stupid feed to show English?

And, how to hide all those stupid game feed. In my FB, I already hide them, but N9 Feed, it pulls everything, so many annoying game feed flooding, and FB app is really not nice to use, sometimes forever loading, then cannot find back the old post and seems some post didn't show up or hidden or maybe the app decide to hide it? Lucky I still have my trusty N900 with it's nice browser with full flash support although outdated.
How is the FB App on other OS like iOS or Android? If same, I wonder how they've been using it and probably missing many post and seeing many stupid game feeds.
*
Actually, i think touch.facebook.com is a better facebook client than native client, same can be said for all clients in my humble opinion.

I think the feed will use BM because the region we chose is Malaysia, I can live with that though it's a bit silly.

Added on December 13, 2011, 7:24 pmMore pressing matter is the Calendar Sync. I first tried using CalDav to sync with my Google Calendar, worked flawlessly but then when I messed up my phone, decided to reinstall the f/w, wipe out and yada yada. CalDav doesn't work anymore. I had all my credentials entered correctly, the sync will only go one way (phone to server), what ever input on my google calendar side will not sync to my phone.

Then I decided to use MfE, everything syncs but Full Day event will stumble to silly error like jumped one day ahead or appeared on both the current and subsequent day.

http://mobile-review.com/review/nokia-n9-2-en.shtml

Reading Eldar's review. It felt he is extremely bias and often picked on rare occurrence bug and blow it out of proportion.

He said swype keyboard is way better than Nokia's keyboard even when you don't use it for swype. I don't think so, swype is good for one hand input but if making input with both hands, stock keyboard is definitely one of the best if not the best I've used so far.

He also claimed that Drive is highly unstable and freezes the phone, I haven't suffered any of that just yet. In addition, while using Drive, he can't listen to music and browse the app. Okay let's say I give him the benefit of the doubt that it does happen, why is he browsing the web while on drive mode? That doesn't even make sense in real life.

First of all, did you enable developer's mode? If you do, try disable and delete "Developer mode" app on SETTINGS>APPLICATION>APPLICATION MANAGEMENT. It will then remove all the related components. See if that's help, because SSH blah blah yada yada can sometime go rogue on some occasion.

2nd thing is that, use GSM mode only, it helps a lot.

When it is in drive mode, not necessarily that he is driving. It can be that he is a co-driver, showing ways for the driver to go.  nod.gif
*
Even when one is a co-driver, one shouldn't be out of drive mode and browse the web for long coz need to watch the map for the next turning, yada yada. Still I did not exactly face the phone freeze problem while looking up for information on the web while drive mode in background.

I think Eldar's assessment on everything Nokia is absolutely biased these days for obvious reasons of course.

Thank you SKLCHAN!
i am still exploring this phone...havent had much fun with a new phone/os like this in years.....

after installing nokia link - i can now convert videos to the phone but i find that the quality is really crappy after conversion.... one strange thing about the conversion is this
1 ) convert a 160mb video file - it worked without any problem
2 ) convert a 200mb/300mb  video file - it will prompt me that i dont have enough storage on the phone.....despite the system showing 5gb worth of space...hmn....problem with the converter software me thinks....

some bugs i have found so far on my n9 1.2
1 ) sometimes phone will jus hang..... and i have to reset power
2 ) Power drains like crazy - even on just light web surfing and connected to fb.twit.skype.
3 ) do i need to use the official power charger from nokia ? i used the SE power charger and it takes more than 3-4hours to fully charge even when the batt is at 70%
*
regarding using 3rd party charger, u must first check the output ampere rating, some old charger is very small in output ampere because battery capacity is small on those phones. If ur output ampere is about 1000 ma, then u should be able to charge quite fast

If you prefer full brightness, just set the minimum brightness bar to the highest, that will give you almost full brightness if not the brightest setting..

at this point begging for whatsapp seemed like an act of pity, i would hope to see them fail instead, after all they require users to pay for their service and constant server down problem, they should just die out.

let's not kid ourselves, whatsapp is somehow desirable for two qualities, large user base where all your friends are using it due to ease of usage and no frills setup, second push notification, does wonders to battery. I am not saying the approach on IM(using ur contact number as id for example) is correct but they currently emerged as the victors and regular joe wouldn't just switch bck to msn or fb chat on mobile just for you and I becauae it is the path of least resistance. The only thing you can pray for is ebuddy xms to catch up which display the almost same quality but i have friends using iOS complaining that installation crashea his phone so preventing him from using it.

In the end, it depends on the user, if there're many people using FB Chat (after all, most people have FB nowadays, and you can chat from phone or PC/laptop), it's set the new trend, which is even better, cause you can chat with people who're using the PC and/or don't use smartphone or didn't have data plan, etc. It's just because many people are using WhatsApp already, it's not easy to change unless there's the big switch happening.
*
The problem with FB chat is that the experience on Mobile is no good for iPhone users (I picked iPhone users because they are the ones that most "unfluid" to changes"), at least the native client, the one on imo.im is not too bad. Besides FB chat is notorious on not getting the message delivered to 3rd party client and just sent as message into your inbox.

FB chat adoption on PC/desktop is great i know but adoption on mobile is still low compared to WhatsApp which is the most important space, mobile penetration is greater than any PC/desktop of any kind combined

I know, thats the main reason why I dont use whatsapp and rarely use IM/chatting function on phone. It will eat up the 3G quota. Sms if same operator can get free.

And if any contacts want me to use whatsapp or whatever, i just say data rates expensive, could you just sms . Or use private message in FB or forums(for those not in my FB list), its not life and death issue what, lol.
For those overseas, chat on PC when I'm streamyx.
*
Well whatsapp employs data compression, so it works more efficiently than normal IM to be fair.

If both sides have push email it works almost like IM also. Most smartphones already have push email facility. With so many free alternatives around the popularity of Whatsapp will decline especially when it has 2 big disadvantages - it's not free and it has to run in the background.
*
haha, i have been using push mail with one of my friend ever since i got n9 to talk, it is okay but i do miss the conversation view of messaging. Dont think whatsapp will die out because of the paid model because so far people have mo problem paying it especially when they can save up in sms cost provided theu have data, it will only die out if apple and google decided to integrate IM services into theor OS like meego or wp7. But i dont see that happening on ios because that doesnt do them favour in locking their customers into their services hence iMessage was born to continue locking up their customers within their eco system

I would have believed in Nokiamy tweets than the person you called up because sometimes those people never went to find out properly like the silicone casing, simply give me false anwser like in a weeks time which was untrue.

I do not know how people work these days? Because they don't seem like working at all.

I have been facing one particular issue with Nokia Care centre recently. I have been calling them to check the casing availabilty for more than a month now. First said stock will be availble in a week time, went there a week later, don't have. Then later I called to check, say not available yet. Then a week ago, I called to check, tell me will check and call me later. Today I call again to check, tell me will check and call later. Needless to say, I gave them quite a unhappy remark.

I really puzzled by the quality of customer service in Malaysia. It's a general statement, not just Nokia Care centre. Why the hell we so much people that work like as though they are not being paid.

Well just becareful when using N9 tweak especially the bounce thing for lockscreen, i did not enter any value when it asked me to assuming that it will just input default value when doing so, end up plunging my devices into endless restart loop, I was lucky that I am able to reinstall my f/w.

So please becareful when you try to mess around ur device especially those that need access to developer's mode

Why are you calling Nokia Care centre for casing availability? You can always call Nokia dealers or drop in to any Nokia shop. NCC are just service centres outsourced by Nokia and I won't go to them to buy stuff although they do sell some stuff.
*
For official accessories, Nokia care centre are the legimate place to go to and by right the first people to get them, even nokia concept store will not have the full inventory as compared to the people at nokia care centre.

I am looking for the official case CC-1020, unless you know else where are selling.

From what I know and verified by my personal experience with them, Nokia care centres are just sub-contractors of Nokia whom Nokia outsource the serving. They are not even part of Nokia.

I don't know where to get the official case. Have you tried online?
*
official case can get from nokiq care centre like the one in one utama, i don't care if they are subcontractors or nokia themselves, if nokia hire them, then nokia has the obligation to maintain their standards across the chain, it is still their responsibility. My purchase contract is with Nokia so they have the duty to provide good care

not really, nokia store mid valley also pointme to purchase at Nokia care centre, anyway i already preordered it at nokia care centre, takes about 5 days.

regarding gps issue, i seemed to suffer from some gps signal break while driving ever since i updated to pr 1.1
