It is so awesome to have swype finally but i dont think it is very user friendly when u actually feel like typing with it, it is only for one handed when i wanna make one handed in put, like replying a quick text outside, still prefer the buiilt in keyboard as it is very easy to type. I Completely replied this thread using the built in keyboard
Added on November 12, 2011, 3:30 pmDid anyone notice that the swipe down to close feature is dependant to the actual phone position rather than the screen orientation? I had my phone upside down and i swipe down from that position it closes down the app but the screen orientation is showing upside down. I wonder if this is a mistake or intentionally made so. It's rather confusing. This post has been edited by nebousuke: Nov 12 2011, 03:30 PM |

By the way for those who experience lagness and choppy performance after update, u can try restore setting first, it seemed to work for me, i did not hard reset.
Added on November 12, 2011, 4:12 pm QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 12 2011, 04:10 PM) unfortunately it is still rather choppy at times. If not i wiuld have liked it a lot too especially for viewing picturesThis post has been edited by nebousuke: Nov 12 2011, 04:12 PM |

QUOTE(eaglehelang @ Nov 12 2011, 04:24 PM) Same here, I didnt want to go thru the hassle of re-copying, did the 'restore settings'. It's fine. Well don't actually need developers sifu to do that, just need to enable developers mode, edit certain lines. I stumbled upon the guide before. But couldn't be bothered with it. I tried not to re enable developers mode after this reflashing because i wanna test out the battery performance, see how would that go. But it's kind of a pain without my favourite and trusty opera mobile thoughIf notification light dont work from previous version, could be hardware problem, updates wouldnt solve it. Unless you ask the developer sifus to write an a prog for it. Mine works from the time I bought it |

QUOTE(eaglehelang @ Nov 12 2011, 05:17 PM) Opera Mobile 11 is available for download from evrythingn9.com, along with the guide. But it only has landscape mode. Opera Mobile 11 can't be installed without enabling Developer's mode which I try not to do so just yet because i want to establish battery consumption without enabling developer's mode first. I will re-enabled it sometime after I test it out for a few days. |

QUOTE(yeohsheng @ Nov 12 2011, 10:30 PM) erm, normally why we will need a lot of storage? Depends on usage, i use my phone mainly for communication, twitter, fb and web browsing. So 16gb is pretty good for me, though i would welcome more if I had the choice but Digi only offered 16gb for the contract, I can live with that so I took itsry never use smartphone before. thinking to get this n9 as my first smartphone QUOTE(inugami @ Nov 12 2011, 10:37 PM) anybody know how to install filemanager using terminal apps?i cant access to nokia account,so i have no choice but to use termina as alternative.please help me.. There is a file manager app on ovi store, why do u wanna access your director via terminal mode?QUOTE(yeohsheng @ Nov 12 2011, 11:30 PM) erm can some1 tell me how they devide the partition for 16gb n 64gb? In real life, 4.2 gb is being partitioned for apps, and 2.1 is being used for Application Data. So the remaining will be the available space for your own media consumption which isn't a lot in the 16gb case.n how much the space left once we get the phone? |

By the way, did anyone notice that the compass app was pulled out from Nokia Store? You know the green background compass app when they first demo n9.

i notice that my battery life improved significantly too with heavy usage like streaming via wifi etc plus outside use twitter and fb periodically using edge only though but i suspect it might be due to the fact that this time i did not enable developer's mode.
As for the soft cover, they are selling ori ones at nokia service centre at 1u but will only stock up next week, so i am gonna get one. Price is rm 59 instead of rm79 due to promotion. |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Nov 13 2011, 07:41 PM) I also got from NSU. I am impress of the PR 1.1 battery life. If you don't mind me asking, did you enable developers mode? I experiencing extremely good battery life too like the one they used to rave about. 12 hours since charging, 28% with 3 hrs 5 mins active use which include most likely 30 mins more of video streaming on wifi. I am impressed.Reach home now auto switch to power saving mode i still have battery. I extreme use the battery with GPS, online and youtube the battery show low batt. Then half an hour it suddenly goes up when enter power saving mode i believe its just an estimation. It last until now. |

QUOTE(del85 @ Nov 20 2011, 09:20 PM) Somephone just doesn't light up, mine don't but it's perfectly fine. No problem with thatAnyway, you guys should try out this app, It's called calendar feed, which display your future calendar event on the home screen. it's pretty simple not as fancy looking as Date event but more functional as the refresh does work. And it doesn't suck my battery dry like Date event http://my-meego.com/software/applications....Auto=680&faq=13 |

To those who interested to to connect to MSN and YM please follow the following guide, I already did it. It worked! But you have to enable developer's mode first and gain access to Terminal, also you need to have software like Gajim on your computer to activate the service for MSN and YM for your Jabber account.
This is to setup Jabber account for you to connect to MSN and YM http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=1049366&postcount=12 This is for you to manually insert Jabber account into the N9, needs terminal access http://wiki.meego.com/Migrating_from_N900_...e_account_setup TS please insert this to the beginning of the page. |

To those that had been saying that N9 is that last of its kind so the ecosystem is doomed, yada yada. Well I was totally shocked when I logged into to Nokia Store last night. So many apps added. It's crazy, i had downloaded a few more. I added at least 3 more games, Circus, EvidenceHunter and Urban FatBurner. Now if only ebuddy XMS just release its beta now.

If you don't want to hard reset, you can try restore settings first or aka soft reset. My phone worked smoothly after soft reset
