I don't hear any hissing sound on my MBP unless I max out the volume..
I'm using Sennheiser HD 215..

I don't get the hissing sound all the time, just occasionally when no song is played. I wonder if it's fine or not. sad.gif

Hmm.. Sometime hissing sound will happen when the voltage is not stable..
Does your adapter same like MBP? If yes, try use the extension chord smile.gif

Thanks for clarifying, feel relieved now. smile.gif

Did not plug in the charger while listening to songs. Could that be the cause to the hissing sound?

Swap the plug head of your charger to the long cable if you are using the 3-pin head only. If you already using the long cable. Check your power source grounding.

BE WARNED yo!

Apple charged me for downloading Lion on AppStore even though I have a new MBP that I've just purchased from Apple online that shipped with pre-installed Lion vmad.gif

I have called them and a case is open.

How to you extract out as a folder rather than extracting the contents out?

for example, I want to 'extract to Movie' on the mac

Strange .. AppStore usually will not let your purchase the Lion if you're running from a preinstalled machine. I might be wrong though, anyway, hope you get your money back.

Haven't done this .. but you may try The Unarchiver .. just double click the first file, it should extract the multi-rar files into single folder.

When extracting archive to NTFS drive via USB 2.0, you might noticed that the speed is at average of ~20MBps (perhaps it's just me?). On my Windows desktop I can achieve an average speed of 30MBps.

I'm thinking that this might be due to the Tuxera NTFS limitation. So I mostly done my extraction on VM running Windows 7.

My advice is 'wait' unless you need it now urgently.
You wouldn't need the mbp on the first month of schooling anyway. lol
