the capacity way too small. if you dont mind keeping the files inside the external hdd, then its fine.
lifespan? they always a refresh after couple of months/a year. 13" is pretty much good for anyone, neither small nor large.

i think the entry 13" mbp will be good choice rather than mba, unless you finding the lightweight notebook.

Im considering weight too. Is the weight difference minor between the two? i might consider saving files into an external. doesnt the mba have any pros over mbp excluding weight?

weight different: mba 13 weighing around 1.35 kg while mbp 13" is 2.04 kg. you decide which one better for you.
another pros, mba faster than mbp when accessing files since it using ssd

anyway, its all depend on your buying desire. if you really want the mba, get it. else you will regret buying that not in your choice. unless you are the one that easily to change when buying thing.

I think if you narrow down to either a 13" MBA or 13" MBP, for me better go for the air. The difference in speed between the Air and the Pro is huuuuge. I tested my friend's Pro and it is noticeably slower in loading applications. The SSD in the Air really makes a difference and for your day to day need, the Air is simply the better choice.

Go to any Mac store and try opening up iTunes, on the Air it will load up instantly whereas the Pro took a good while to load.

I'm not too sure but I don't think the current 13" specs are that much of an improvement to yours, so the difference of 1K in price for a 7 months old product is a bit of a loss don't cha think? If the MBP is in very good condition, you should try to get at least RM 2800-2900.. Just my opinion though..

Em, condition is like new, with case since first day... N my gf use almost once a week..
Keep more than use...

Anyway, just sold today by 2650

I didn't try on ultra settings yet.. I worry it will overheat the MBP cause the fan speed was running at max speed already..
How do I check FPS on game? blush.gif

i would recommend you get a macbook pro if you going to game often as their cooling system is more efficient, and dota is a very time consuming game. tongue.gif

i have tried games like Torchlight (using Windows 7 on bootcamp) on my Air and the temperature goes up to 90 deg, which might be a bit hot (but still under safe operating temperatures according to Intel standards). so it's probably hot enough to boil water. haha. so if it melts, just get it replaced under warranty. laugh.gif

but on your question regarding the screen, the size is just perfect and the 1440x900 resolution makes game very sharp. biggrin.gif

if weight is your main concern, definitely the Air is your only choice. i was using a MBP 13" previously and there really is a noticeable difference in weight compared to my 13" Air. nowadays, i even bring my Air out when I walk around at shopping malls (and chill at Starbucks/some cafe for 2-3 hours out of that) because it's so light (without the charger which I normally don't bring thanks to the Air's 7 hours battery life), I can hardly feel it. biggrin.gif

if you are a student, you need to factor in the weight plus your books/notes/papers too. that's why I guess most students prefer to carry a netbook around due to weight. nod.gif

i am also thinking air or pro

it will be using it for work, mainly emails/excel/words only.

I want the SSD, but i am thinking to not only using this notebook for work purpose, but also use it as the hub for my iOS device, since i am facing a lot of problem in setting up wireless sync and such on my desktop at home. However, if it's a hub, then if air, i will be facing storage problem. but if buy pro, then the weight will build up coz since i am using it as a hub, i will have to bring it back home everyday.....

i used to play a lot of games, and although i have a desktop at home, but sometimes when on mobile, i wish to play too. but i do find that i rarely play PC games lately, usually more on those stupid flash based game lol. but i do regret 1 day when i want to play, air cant support

haiz...i am lucky that black friday deal not in malaysia lol if not surely i buy liao
