QUOTE(aba9785 @ Jun 12 2012, 09:02 AM) hey... i got a few noob question to ask. 1. since the new MacBook Pro don't come with an optical drive, what would be the best solution? (i'm new to Mac, planning to get 1 soon, still undecided to get the new one (almost rm7k) or get the previous model (if i can still find one in Penang) 2. main purpose is for photo editing, with plans for video editing. so i think i need extra hdd, what would be the best solution for it? (prefer cheaper one, cant afford lacie or other thunderbolt drive) get a apple USB optical drive for another premium price, or get normal USB optical drive under RM100.

I do Mac support for corporate, ad agencies & government agencies.
Sometimes when configuring networking related hardware, I need to use cable, eg- NAS. If I got myself the new retina MBP, when I need to do configuration, I do not want a converter cable hanging there, looks ugly.
Retina definitely is a go go for for photographer & ad people. Wedding photographer can show stunning picture to their clients on shooting site while ad people can show & edit their clients video using the extra power of FCP.

Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting the new 13" mba to replace my 2011 11" 64gb 2gb ram mba. Izzit worth the upgrade?
Reason: +Larger screen asset +128gb (double my previous storage) +4gb ram (double my previous ram) +New chip +Longer battery life +New OS for free +HD facetime camera
I think I need to top-up at least RM1500-1800 to trade in...
