The WDs in my rig are fast but a little hotter than my Hitachi and previous Maxtor. The last I used Seagate was ... 1994/1995, just a kiddie back then with my first Acer rig tongue.gif The 1GB Seagate HDD is still working until today shocking.gif

By the way, nowadays when I buy HDD, they just give you the unit in a anti-static bag, no screws laugh.gif

My WDs make that sound too, but I don't think it's a problem, should be the head of drive parking itself unsure.gif

No, its from the WD HDD

Stated from their support site

Normal drive sounds include:

* Whining noise during drive spin-up

* Occasional clicks during data access

* Hard clicks during a head park operation (shutdown or sleep mode)
