QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jun 23 2012, 11:14 PM) y u have to run on ron97? ermmm... Coz my compression ratio is 11.8 and there insufficient flow in my exhaust. At least that's what JC Racing and also my engine builder told me.JC racing did a tune on hondata for a DC5-R to run on RON95....only lost 2whp... BUT... unfortunately that engine blew... not the fault of the tune though... more like the circumstance of the moment...ie trying to pull with a superbike on MEX Also when on Ron 95. There's a funny bubbling sound coming from my exhaust that's not there when I'm running RON 97. Not sure how to describe the sound, maybe correct term is backfire. |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jun 24 2012, 02:29 AM) huh? how come ur K20 isnt compatible with hondata? tried checking out K-Pro? K20A type R.... coz' the ECU is not from a type-R that's why not compatible with any Hondata stuff, including K-pro. I wish there was a way to make it compatible without changing the ECU, re-wiring, etc... but oh well.... can't undo past mistake without spending a bomb..anyway...urs is K20A-Type R or Type S or the normal K20a in stream, CRV, FD2? the autos and 1.8" thats waaaaaaaaaaaayyyy too small... if urs is the R or S... then u should be running 2.5" either way....i assume with ur management u have ignition tuning? if yes, then u should be able to tune to RON95...check with ur tuner. the K20A that blew i mentioned earlier...i heard he built a K24 after that...and still running on RON95 yup, my tuner recommended 2.5" also.... Should I go for S-flow or straight flow?? |

Anybody know what it takes to get a DC5 exhaust manifold into an ES chassis?
Don't want to have to custom made a brand new exhaust to fit my K20A. I heard a DC5 exhaust manifold will fit with some changes. Anybody have experience or have friends with experience on this? |

QUOTE(GeNez @ Jul 16 2012, 09:07 AM) Wah! All Bseries Fanboys here... no one layan Kseries engine? even FN2R kaki also so little.... sigh. I'm on K-series...But of course there is more B-series around due to it's lower cost and it's been around far longer. Plue more mech/engine builder familiar with B-series compared to K-series. |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jul 25 2012, 03:04 AM) did u get the same exact gearbox model? check ur previous gearbox code and ur current one... then google them and compare the ratios... Where is F-tuned racing located? I'm interested in some DC5 stuff they have lying around or so my friend told me.if different its possible the gearbox ratios are different i.e. longer interesting.....u should also look up F-Tuned racing...a couple of friends did their suspension with them and are very happy...id consider doing it myself if i ever sell the tein flex and get my hands on some cheap suspension I googled it and it suppose to be in Jln Ulu Kelang, but my friend said it's in Sunway... |

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Jul 30 2012, 11:36 PM) cant find any info on the net? I looking for info from more believable source, since dunwan waste money if it's not possible or need lots of modification to get it to fit. My own mechanic said only need to change the front ARB to DC5 if wanna use DC5 exhaust manifold, but several time already the case is he made some wrong assumption which cost me more $$$ QUOTE(sadako-chan @ Jul 31 2012, 03:46 AM) Restrictive exhaust cause knocking/pinging? No, never hear before, but I once got a metallic sound like pinging when accelerating, thought it was knocking/pinging.. turns out it was my exhaust touching a part of the body when vibrating due to poor fitment of exhaust. hmmm... Did valve clearance check/adjust 3 times but problem still there, become worse when the valve tolerance is very tight (below spec limit). |
