Sorry...i am newbie for Xbox here....Just wanna ask some question about the differences 4GB and 250GB

1. Is it just capacity differences between 4GB set and 250GB set?

2. I just want to purchase the disc and play the games only...is it 4GB set will enough for me?

4gb is the internal memory and you can add more in future... every xbox will need hdd somehow in future as those game you can install partially to make your loading faster~~~

but if u wanna save budget..do my thing,,just by the 4gb..then look for a 120 or 250 gb hdd 2cnd hand..

There are official hdd for Xbox with the size (those for use in old model of Xbox). Go with the console with the 250gb hdd as buying an extra official one from microsoft will be expensive.

Btw difference between the 250gb n 4gb console is the 250gb console is gloss black while the other is black matte. Latest revision all consoles (250gb n 4gb) are all black matte. No more glossyyy

Retail games will run fine without the hdd. Only few games require hdd e.g. Forza 3 to install additional tracks n cars. If you plan to buy Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) games, then 4gb will run out reaaaallly fast.

Hurm.. i am planning to get the 250gb version. i saw you post on the HDD section. you have to buy the storage at the end. might as well straight away get the 250gb version. Afterall after hooking up to the TV ill move it less.

where can use external hdd to install game? you need official ms hdd la. so you need to buy extra thing liao. afaik 4gb is internal flash. so actually 4gb is no hdd and 250gb is included hdd.

Heard that newer discs (XGD3 format used by Gears 3, Space Marine and Dead Island) will be abit noisy. Me playing Gears 3 installed onto HDD still hear longer than usual noise until it turns silent.

So you should try all your discs first. If it turns out every disc got unacceptable noise level, then it's likely you got somewhat a faulty drive. But if the problem only reproduced on newer discs then it's normal. But if the noise level only persists with a particular disc then the disc itself is faulty.

So yeah, having it installed on HDD will eliminate the symptom (albeit the disc will initially spin for a moment for the security check), but not the problem (if it's in case your drive is faulty). The best way to find out is to do comparison by your ear. Pop in the same game (not the same disc) with your friend's slim (or the shop's), and hear the sound. And then try the same disc on both consoles. It's either everything's ok, your drive's faulty or your disc is. Just stating the obvious.

Yes, u can create another gamertag, but:

1. You'll need another hotmail or live email
2. The aachievement, progress and gamesaves can't be continued
3. Each console is only limited to creation of 3 free gold account. So once you're on your third gold you can't create free gold anymore. This will have u shook your head in case of certain beta release which is region-specific (eg Battlefield 3 beta isn't available on SG gold GT), so u might save up your free gold quota for better reason than just wanna continue playing online.

Finger crossed, but mine still got no ban. Seems that this 'hack' isn't that offending for MS (me guess).

Furthermore the drive slot in Slim seems to be made practically to easily slot in the normal 2.5 hard drive. So it's more like MS aren't encouraging DIY method but not stopping it either.

Btw for everybody else that got no WD HDD laying around their desks, better buy the official HDD as the price is ok anyway.

Some demo/beta are gold exclusives while being region-exclusive (eg Battlefield 3 Beta), so non-gold account won't work. On that kind of circumstances u'll need US GOLD GT, which might come handy if you save up your free gold quota.

As for the HDD, nope, the mod (HDD Hackr) is only doable on WD 2.5 HDD.

Microsoft is selling thier hard drive extremely expensive. and my advise for the TS if you dont always dl demo 4GB is more than enough for normal gaming , plus you can add a USB drive up to 32 gb if you really need it to store DLC usually game update is very small less than 100mb so downloading update is not a problem now, In my opinion the Xbox 4gb bundle with kinect is the best bundle on Xbox now.The 250gb bundle with kinect is priced too expensive. For that price you can get a PS3 and have left RM 500 to spend on games.Don't forget the expensive live sub.There is a reason PS3 is more popular here becasue it does everything similar to Xbox and it is cheaper.But i must admit. Kinect is really fun "toy" for me.

Depend on what games you're going to play. If the games box mention Requires Kinect Sensor, then having a Kinect is a must for you to play the games. But majority of the games are playable with the normal controller.

Playing online is the biggest thing to consider on buying an xbox360. And if you're just keen on playing older single player stuffs on the cheap, it's better to do that on PC (via Steam). Super cheap plus it's legitimate.

Lots of multiplayer-capable blockbuster games got shitty singleplayer portion lately, so there's no urge to go through modded route on the xbox. Plus the mod won't last forever, which translates to burning lots of money in the long run.

Hi everyone,I am a PS3 user and I plan to have a Xbox 360.But one thing my main concern is,when I want to download the DLC from LIVE,it will be region lock right?I have no problem getting DLC via PSN as it is region free.

Now my main problem is for example i want to get future MW3 dlc via LIVE,and it is region lock.And I want to know where places in Malaysia got do the VPN business and help those Xbox user download the DLC.I mean I don't mind to pay abit extra for the VPN services as I also download the DLC once in a while especially COD DLC and other FPS games

My advise, go for original console, much more better...If you worry the game too expensive, got some seller at game trade zone sell 2nd hand game and new game very cheap.... I also buy from there..

thanks for the advice..but not looking playing online coz dun have internet connection at home...so modded xbox 360 fill my requirement i think...and dun think i playing alone every nite coz purpose of buying this console is for my 3 children at home...at least in the future if they want new game can buy it without headache...but agree with u..in a year at least 2 or 3 time must update for playing latest game..this will cos rm 60~rm100 for each update...also every single seller i ask which one is worth buying either modded or unmodded all of them recommend modded console base on my requirement..now looking either to buy new set or used set...huhuh

I got a 4GB unmodded XBOX 360 Slim. Its good. Comes with Kinect...Together cost me around 1100. DO GET THE ORIGINAL ONE.
